作者建议dentist should target male consumers as the main resource and emphasize their anesthetic techniques and the feeling of nervous or suffering patients.
reasons: dentists' statistics reveal that more men than women faint when visiting a dentist.
However, how the dentists collect the statistics? 男病人和女病人得到的处理是一样的吗？可能男病人的处理会更严重一些，引起他们昏倒。女病人没有昏倒是否有其他的表现？其他的表现是比昏倒严重还是轻微？
牙医的病人里女病人多还是男病人多？把宣传集中在男病人身上会影响女病人来看病的意愿吧？
麻醉技术的提高是对病人就诊有帮助，但不应该是关注的主要方面，在治疗上应该更加努力。关心紧张的和难受的病人是正确的，但更该努力去找到解决的办法。

Argument 200.

Statistics collected from dentists indicate that three times more men than women faint while visiting the dentist. This evidence suggests that men are more likely to be distressed about having dental work done than women are. Thus, dentists who advertise to attract patients should target the male consumer and emphasize both the effectiveness of their anesthetic techniques and the sensitivity of their staff to nervous or suffering patients.

(1) First, the validity and generalizability of the statistics are open to question. No necessary information about the total amount of patients in dentists' offices is provided, and the what the percentage do the male patients take up in the total amount is not mentioned.

(2) It is unfairly to generalize that men are more likely to be distressed about dental work. If the amount of men who visit dentists are much more than women, it would be unpersuasive to make this conclusion.

(3) It could be a ill-conceived plan and could be unfair to those famale patients.

(1) It is not clear how the statistics are collected or whether they are representitive, so the claim that men are more likely to be distressed about having dental work done than women is unfounded.
(2) The way that dentists only target the male in order to attract patients may be not a good idea, since at least it ignores the potential women consumers.
(3) The way of emphasis of effectiveness of anesthetic techniques and sensitivity may not lead to the expectation that more patients will be attracted.
