132 "The university community consists of three different worlds -- the sciences, the humanities, and the social sciences. Because each world operates on its own assumptions and has its own special habits of thinking, rarely is there meaningful interaction among the sciences, the humanities, and the social sciences."
我把它归作教育类，但是写起来发现跟教育没什么关系


写了两个小时，开始的时候准备专写the interaction between humanities and the social sciences的，写到最后才二百多字，因为实在没有例子，写起来干巴巴的。后来重新写，为了长一点三个方面都写，还是没有例子，还是干巴巴的。:((

I believe that even though each of these three different worlds -- the sciences, the humanities and the social sciences, has its own special habits of thinking and operates on its own assumptions, there are a great deal of meaningful interaction among them.

To begin with, the social sciences base on humanities. Common sense tells me that the social sciences have little meaning unless it is related with humanities. The main duty of the social sciences is to research the social behavior and social relationship of people who are integral parts of the society, while the main task of humanity is to study individuals characters and thought. Without understanding humanity, the social scientists can't achieve success because they neglect the elementals of the social sciences. On the other hand, humanities make nonsense if studied at the field that isolated from the social sciences. Just as a psychologist once said: "Only when one person be in society, he become a really man." To study people's humanities, it is important to consider the social background of people. And it should not be forgotten that the moral or ethical problems take place in society, and can be resolved only by the means that relate with social power.

In addition, without the help of sciences, there would have not such great amount of breakthrough in humanity and the social sciences. The scientific technique has been infiltrated through the world of humanity and the social sciences, and become the indispensable factor of their progress. For example, modern economics base on mathematics, computer has been used in every field of humanity and the social sciences, and the Internet has enormous influence on people's behavior and ideal, etc. At the same time, humanity and the social sciences sometimes limit the progress in sciences. When people talking about the colon technology, people are more likely concerned with the ethical problems that maybe brought about by it. When the development of sciences beyond the permission of morality and ethic, most people believe that it may result in calamity of the human beings. At these times, humanity or the social sciences may be the constraint to sciences.

It is important to consider the interaction among these three worlds when people begin their study. To isolate each of them from the community, which is consisted by sciences, humanity and the social sciences, is impropriate. It just as when someone want to study what an elephant likes, one only to research the elephant's nose. These three different world are integral parts of the cognitive realm, and if abstract each of them, the cognitive realm would be un-integrated.

To sum up, to depart the university community into three absolute isolating parts, sciences, humanities and the social sciences is irrational. There is meaningful interaction among them. When study each of them, it is important to consider the interaction also.

这篇文章主要是讲学科间的相互关联性了。

也就是说自然科学，社会科学，和人文科学是否由于他们研究方式，思考方式的不同而各自独立。

一是：首先我们应该承认他们的相互独立性，毕竟从他们的ＭＥＴＨＯＤ和ＴＨＩＮＫＩＮＧ方面都有诸多的不同，这点在ＧＲＥ阅读里都能找到相关的例子。

二是：当前的趋势是越来越强调学科的相互关联，相互促进性。ＩＮＴＥＲＤＩＳＰＩＮＡＲＹ　ＩＮＴＥＲＡＣＴＩＯＮ。例子也不少了，比如说考古学，天文学，建筑学，都是可以作为跨学科互为促进的例子了。
