上网看了下，大家错的多的题我没错，但偏偏错了11题。。。。。我觉得11题的对应句应该是 after several years of cultivation and harvest,the site would restored at a cost much lower than the price of excavation and reburial.the standard practice for remediation of contaminated soils吧
我觉得四个选项似乎都不怎么合适啊。。。。

Paragraph 6: Only recently have investigators considered using these plants to clean up soil and waste sites that have been contaminated by toxic levels of heavy metals – an environmentally friendly approach known as phytoremediation. This scenario begins with the planting of hyper accumulating species in the target area, such as an abandoned mine or an irrigation pond contaminated by runoff. Toxic minerals would first be absorbed by roots but later relocated to the stem and leaves. A harvest of the shoots would remove the toxic compounds off site to be burned or composted to recover the metal for industrial uses. After several years of cultivation and harvest, the site would be restored at a cost much lower than the price of excavation and reburial, the standard practice for remediation of contaminated soils. For examples, in field trials, the plant alpine pennycress removed zinc and cadmium from soils near a zinc smelter, and Indian mustard, native to Pakistan and India, has been effective in reducing levels of selenium salts by 50 percent in contaminated soils.

does not allow for the use of the removed minerals for industrial purposes.
can be faster to implement
is equally friendly to the environment
is less suitable for soils that need to be used within a short period of time.

选D。
出自这句After several years of cultivation and harvest, the site would be restored at a cost much lower than the price of excavation and reburial, the standard practice for remediation of contaminated soils.
强调了时间要several years以后才有成效。

可是也没说standard要多长时间啊。。。。怎么知道一定比他短呢？我总觉得应该有一个选项是关于cost的。。。

这个题目有些GRE考试的味道。因为它需要考虑全段落的内容，所以在IBT阅读中，算是难题了。

先看A选项。A选项是明确于原文中A harvest of the shoots would remove the toxic compounds off site to be burned or composted to recover the metal for industrial uses.矛盾的。shoots在这里是名词，叫做（嫩芽）。这个词本来是GRE词汇，在GRE中也是偏词，到了托福中就更是不该。

B选项这是原文明确没有提及的内容。所以不能选

C选项： equally是什么呢？这里面没有比较的存在。我之前在托福阅读的authentic guide中曾经反复提及这个概念。这是ets出题惯用的骗人套路。我称之为原文不存在的无端比较选项比为错误。可以略去不看。

D选项：用排除法可以选D了。但是在这里要解释下为什么是D。D答案出自于六楼版主引用的那句话，但是单凭这一句话，就选D可能有点下不了手。  其实我猜ETS的目的是让考生能从如下这个逻辑角度入手考虑。

这一段很学术化。如果词汇量匮乏的话，可能完全读不懂。我把关键性理解词汇标注下。  hyper accumulating species 是高度密集化植物类群 target area 叫做目标地区。  后面such as  abandoned mine or an irrigation pond 就属于这种目标地域。后面的句子就开始说毒素是怎么被一步一步处理的。所以很学术化。这种句子ets是不能出题的，如果出题也只能考词汇题或者排除概念题。其他涉及理解的题目是不能出的。

After several years of .....，这里是出题点。但是一定要把前面的关系搞清楚后，在看这里才能明白。其实ETS的目的很简单，他要考你的不是前面的学术化东西有没有读懂，而是能不能明白这句话和之前那些学术化句子之间的关系是什么关系。前面说处理毒素的步骤繁多复杂。后面说就说历时长久。这是很正常的写作手法。前面说步骤繁多是叙述，后面说历时长久才是作者想要表达的一个重要内容。

可是作者又说了这种方法的一个重要优点就是：成本花费要比标准方法低很多。 at a cost of  是重要词组。需要知道。

所以综上所述，ETS要考你的不是你能不能读懂After several years of...这句话，因为这句话没有技术含量。他要考你的是你能不能发现上面那些学术化句子和下面句子的逻辑关系。  所以这种考法ETS在OG中是指明的。不过这个题目很隐晦，所以我说他更像GRE阅读的考法模式。

建议楼主看下我以前写过的阅读Authentic Guide。参看下ets所使用的管用作战套路。知己知彼，百战不殆。 ets的诡诈战略战术，我们考生不能不清楚。
