前几天一直无法登陆论坛，重装浏览器也不行，IE、搜狗、遨游都不行，不知是何原因。
本来都想重装系统了。今天下了一个360浏览器，终于可以登陆了。

请教4道题：

Section 35
No.2

(B) monitor......signals
(C) repress......dramatizes
(D) obviate......fosters

（1）陈圣元给的答案是D，但书上没给解释。我先开始也选的是D，思路是这样的：
obviate恰好是forbids和prohibits的同义词。
（2）但后头想想，应该选C：
首先，不应该只孤立地对应单词，即repress应该对应forbids speech和prohibits sight；
其次，第2空显然应重复draws attention，从这个角度，dramatizes比fosters恰当。
dramatizes的确有“使sth.引人注目”之意
请问：应该选哪一个？

答案是B，human needs=human use=function，

疑问：“X be relegated to Y”这个词组是什么意思？
如果有“X让位于Y”之意，那选A也挺合适的？——————求指教

我的思路：
显然，只有dual和ambivalent表示“两个”的意思，C、E候选。
由于“on the one hand....on the other hand”，所以两者应该有对立的含义，所以我选E

dual的韦氏解释： consisting of two parts or elements or having two like parts
注意：其中有一个“like”,表示相似，这似乎与on the one hand....on the other hand矛盾？？

疑问：
答案是C，究竟on the one hand....on the other hand这个词组有没有表达“对立”含义？？

Section 41
No.6
The current penchant for ___ a product by denigrating a rival, named in the advertisement
by brand name, seems somewhat ____: suppose the consumer remembers only the rival's name?
(A) criticizing......inefficient
(B) touting......foolhardy

由冒号后的句意，很明显表达了“贬低竞争对手的方式是聪明反被聪明误”的状态

但我觉得此题有歧义，题目不严密：关键在于“product”指的是谁的产品。
如果“product”指的是“自己的”产品，应选B，即通过贬低对手来说明自己的产品好；

但若“product”指的是“对手的”产品，则应该选A，
况且常见的现象是：by doing前的空格应与doing同意，
即by denigrating前应与denigrate同意，表达一种“贬低、诽谤”的意思

答案是B，但我认为有歧义。

1.;表并列，同义重复。第二句中的very“恰恰”的意思，表相反，后一空填“阻碍，禁止”“的反义词，"鼓励",前一空填同义词“阻碍，禁止”。显然是D
2.relegate“降级，贬谪”，relegate to“归入，沦为”多为贬义
3.on the one hand....on the other hand指看事物的两个不同角度，比如网络，一方面促进交流沟通，另一方面很多人沉溺于此。
4.没有歧义，不可能是第二种情况，即你所说的“product”指的是“对手的”产品，这句话逻辑颠倒了。通过诋毁竞争对手来批判对手的产品？？应该是通过诋毁对手的产品来批判竞争对手吧。要诋毁一个事物，必须找一些证据吧，空穴来风说一个人不好，谁信，要通过他做的事不是人干的才有说服力。ets的思维都是很简单的，不要想的那么复杂。

多谢，但我还有些疑惑：
第一题：very韦氏词义 : being the same one  : SELFSAME  *the very man I saw*
         very并没有“相反”之意，
         而且， fosters没有重复draws attention的含义啊？？
第三题：“open”和“household and village”显然是有对立的状态（空旷、不空旷的对立）
         “ ambivalent”这个词是不是程度太重了，所以不选？

1.very 在此作形容词。当very 作形容词时，它表示恰恰的。那意味着，当它在修饰名词时，这个名词所具备的形容词特点和这个名词所发生的动作或者被发生的动作之间是存在相反关系的。
3.这里没有矛盾的意思，当然这个也涉及一点背景，就是法国人的生活方式，household and village指的的他们很休闲安逸，the open road指的是他们也很开放。这里两个方面，没有矛盾的意思。
