Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The most important characteristic for politics is to accept responsibility for mistake. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Many people have formed stereotype for politicians – they are dishonest, cunning, and always speak in an arrogant manner. However, politics doesn’t need people who are only good at manipulating others. The most important characteristic for politics is definitely the ability to be responsible when there is a mistake.

First off, the essence of politics is to make decisions that are crucial for the society through all kinds of diplomacy and dialogues. Things as big as if a rocket should be sent into space or as small as if trees should be planted along the road are decided by politicians. There is no such thing as a perfect plan and mistakes may be made. Inevitably, there will be people who applaud for the idea, along with people who disagree with the decision. What’s the most important thing is to be able to take the responsibility of the mistake. Therefore, a good politician will have to be responsible for any outcomes of the choice that he or she makes. Only be prepared to be responsible and face all the possible consequences, can politicians make good and daring decisions.

Moreover, if say responsibility can help politicians greatly when making decisions, it is even required when applying for politics related jobs. Politicians are selected by the people. If a person is considered as irresponsible, it will hardly be any vote for him or her. Take one of the most important politicians in the world for an example – the president of the United States. President Roosevelt was elected as the president during the depression time of the year. His plan to recover the economy by introducing government power was doubted by many people at that time. However, he showed his great courage by appearing to be responsible. His willingness to accept the responsibility for the consequences of his plan won him lots of votes so that he became the president successfully. Therefore, in order to become a successful politician and be accomplished, the most important characteristic one must obtain is the ability to accept responsibility for mistake.

In conclusion, I believe that accepting responsibility for mistake is indeed the most important characteristic for politics. This characteristic is essential for becoming a politician and will continue to help the politician make vital decisions.

The most important characteristic for politics is definitely the ability to be responsible when there is a mistake.

(appear to be是表面上看起来，语气不肯定,可以换成bearing full responsibility) His willingness to accept the responsibility for the consequences of his plan won him lots of votes so that he became the president successfully. Therefore, in order to become a successful politician and be accomplished, the most important characteristic one must obtain is the ability to accept responsibility for mistake.

In conclusion, I believe that accepting responsibility for mistake is indeed the most important characteristic for politics. This characteristic is essential for becoming a politician and will continue to help the politician make vital decisions.

（楼主写得挺不错的，个别地方我没敢改，比如几个用到as的句子，因为我个人对as的用法不是特别熟练，语言挺流畅的；关于行文思路上，如果可以突出best就更好了，比如可以在开头admittedly，说characteristics for politics有很多，他们也挺重要的，之类之类的，然后引出，however, 负责任是最重要的，这样的话整个文章会更饱满一点，不知您怎么想？。。。ps, 我觉的这次作文题是不是版主写错了，应该是politicians而不是politics吧？）
