在英国的前辈们，我刚申了英国的统计学的MSc,都是一年的项目，感觉没时间当地找工作。看到Kent有两年的精算项目，不知精算毕业后在英国或者欧洲找工作难度如何？有没有什么数据啊？准备选择精算

如果是精算的话，好像CASS的精算最好？

这个有没有什么有依据点的说法？比如从就业的数据来看？

P.S. It is not impossible, but very difficult. You have to really good enough.
UK: famous visa problem + brexit.
EU: they have longer master, e.g. 2 year. their student has internship within between / during student. What on earth make those company don't hire a local one? easier visa, better network, more internship.....well, if you get a good grade from a good UK master, they are definitely willing to do this.

恩，所以一年的项目我不考虑，选择英国两年的项目，一年结束后找实习，应该没签证问题。2年的项目会好很多吧？

the international master in applied actuarial science master is......I will say a comprehensive one.
covering all CT in the 1st year, which is indeed equal to a bachelor in actuarial science,
and CA + ST in the 2nd year, which is somehow similar to some actuarial finance master elsewhere in UK (e.g. Cass, IC)

of course, if you get an internship, and the company is willing to sponsor you the working visa, things will be fine. but I will have two concerns here:

1. It is Kent, only. The name is not big enough for top company - those are willing to sponsor the most important thing. Imagine the case when you are fighting for a limiting number of roles with those from IC, LSE, Cass, Warwick and etc....
2. If you read into the department site, you will find that something called
"Applied Actuarial Science  - MSc  at Canterbury"
"Applied Actuarial Science with an Industrial Placement  - MSc  at Canterbury"
"International Master's in Applied Actuarial Science  - MSc  at Canterbury"
I seriously doubt that all the networking resource of the department (connection with the industry) goes to the 2nd one (with placement), and few are left for the 1st one; not to mention the 3rd one (international master means taught in English for some EU countries, and it means $$$ to university for UK)

P.S. I will seriously doubt if it worth that much investment in a single, specilized qualification on a well-developed and mature area.

与其说是相对的容易，不如说你能在那些方面付出多少努力

Well,  things like/between stat, cs are easier nowaday. You may try some business analytics,  risk or data analysis role after graduation. But:

UK: given the visa policy, nothin is easy.  It is just very difficult vs extremly difficult.  And thus number if school you can apply is limited (only a few top one, like top 5 or a bit more)

EU: language instead of visa.  And consistence between bachelor and master is a big concern for most program.  A business master there (e.g. FR, DE, NL and a few more) is still fine (well business related are the only thing you can apply, given you have a finance bachelor) iff u speak the local language. If not, it is not impossibke but risky.

请问一下，With placement 的employer都是完全自己找的，那带不带industrial placement到底有什么区别？

WTF? with placement 都要自己找…!?

沒有placement畢不了業的話，其實prof也是會首先盡力幫學生的，
但要真是這樣就說明了department 的industrial network 不夠強，不足以保證placement, 所以不敢承諾...

那就是說你要有以international student from Kent uni 的CV, 和各大校 (whatever IC LSE and etc....) 的精算學士生(being in a master wont give you a edge...) 來爭有限的internship職位…good luck to you that you can get an interview then…
