Data Scientist(Recommender System)

The Core Search & Recommendations team at TCL is looking for a (Senior)Data Scientist, and Expert to help build the next generation of our TV search & recommendation engine. Our team creates internal analytical tools and users facing machine/deep learning models that enable TV media resource search and discovery. Our ideal candidate will be able to develop critical insights into our recommender engine data and make strategic recommendations on key opportunities, as well as grow their skillset in the modeling space.

We’re seeking a strong data scientist candidate that is comfortable pulling and aggregating data from multiple significant sources, building out models, designing strategies, defining KPIs, conducting A/B/n tests, and is interested in experimental design.

Job description

• Responsible for the optimization of the recommendation utility of TCL TV content business, and improving the product DAU/retention/time and other valuable metrics;

• Explore various cutting-edge models, formulate appropriate algorithms and strategies for different business scenarios, continuously optimize effects and performance, and enhance user experience;

• Participate in the construction of the algorithm-driven system of the core business (advertising/search/information flow), build a personalized recommendation system/advertising recommendation engine for the TV scene, and increase the advertising revenue and user activity of the Internet business;

• Experiments on applying data mining, deep learning, and machine learning algorithms into real industrial applications with millions of daily UV;

  
  

Job Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, and other related majors;

• Excellent coding ability, solid data structure, and algorithm skills;

• Solid programming skills, familiar with programming languages such as python and scala.

• Hands-on industry experience in big data processing filed such as Spark, HIVE, Elasticsearch, Redis, etc.

• Familiar with deep learning frameworks such as Tensorflow and Pytorch and commonly used machine learning algorithms and recommendation algorithms.

• Minimum 1-2 years of working experience in machine learning, and data mining-related fields, and excellent graduates are also welcome.

• Excellent problem analysis and problem-solving skills, passion for solving challenging problems;

• Enthusiastic about technology, good communication skills, and team spirit;

  
  

Plus:

• Experienced in the propensity model and causal inference is preferred.

• Familiar with one or more recommendation algorithms, and practical experience in recommendation systems, search engines, and other related fields are preferred.
