For the first time, funding for designing experiments to be conducted during space flights has been made available by the government space program to university biologists not already employed by the space program. From the fact that little interest has been expressed in this offer, however, it cannot be concluded that virtually the only biologists interested in research that such experiments could address are those biologists already employed by the space program, since_________.

1. Which of the following most logically completes the argument given?

B. there are more research biologists in industry than at universities

government有一个space program，他们可以conduct space flight experiments。biologist有两种，一种是已经被government space program雇佣的，另外一种是没有被雇佣的。
以前非雇佣的biologist自然也可以替space program设计experiment；但是他们毕竟不是被雇佣的，所以没有实验funding；
但是最近，这样的funding批准了，大学里的非雇佣biologist也可以为space program设计实验并且获得funding了；
然而却鲜有人对这样的funding表示出了兴趣；
有些人可能就会认为：只有那些被government space program雇佣的biologist才对space program的实验和研究感兴趣，因为既然都已经对非雇佣biologist提供funding了，他们却依然不感兴趣；
然而作者不这样认为，因为：——————————；

A：讨论的是针对目前非雇佣biologist的，所以跟already employed的科学家没有关系；
B：提到了university，文中定位第一句，发现原来这个funding不仅要非雇佣科学家才能享用，还得是大学内的科学家。B选项指出，事实上大学里的实验设计性科学家很少，那么自然就不会有太多人表示关注，因为反正也申请不到；
C：这一句与文章逻辑正好相反，或者完全不相关，问题核心是why are these unemployed university biologists not interested in the new funding specificly channeled to them?;
D:与A一样，不相关；
E：不相关，完全没提到实验内容和失重等等；

请问，从文章哪里看出来的？
From the fact that 这一句要怎么来理解？however后半句不理解

虽然已经快两年了,不过我还是重新读了一下这个题目, 我感觉我这个解释其实已经很详细了,

最近funding 被批准就是第一句话的意思, for the first time, funding ...

From the fact that 这一句要怎么来理解？however后半句不理解

这个我觉得真的没有办法再解释清楚了, 如果还是看不懂, 建议多读几遍句子, 花点时间琢磨一下.

感谢。睡一觉再看就懂了。文中2种 biologists 一种是employed，另一种是 not employed(university)
B选项对应第一句的 university biologists。正好对应 From the fact that little interest has been expressed in this offer

感觉government的space program只是提供资金，并没有提到是谁在conduct space flight experiments。（不影响答案）

这道题第一次做也是不懂，但是现在就很明白了，就是不要想太多，就是根据字面意思。先不看选项，看文章，文章里面说政府给了那些大学研究这个项目的人一些钱，这些项目的人不是正式工，但是这些人对这个不感兴趣，我们看到这里的第一反应就是不是正式工给钱也没用。但是后面就又说，如果___能证明不感兴趣不是因为不是正式工。那么就是要填入有些人不是正式工也没钱还是对这个感兴趣的选项。那么就是B，可能industry的这些人不是正式工没钱还是一如既往地给他们干。个人意见啊~~~

不知道这样理解对不对:handshake
问：大学B不感兴趣=/=只有被雇的人有兴趣。
说明有兴趣的另有他人？（但是government没递出橄榄枝）

- 大学B + 已被雇佣的B +（）=感兴趣的
既然已被雇佣B=/=感兴趣，
（）里一定有其他人

我无法理解如何得知仅从“From the fact that little interest has been expressed in this offer”就可以得知这里的little interest的范围仅限于university biologists？

如果是说因为前文所说funding仅对university biologists not already employed by the space program开放，因此此处的little interest必然是只和university biologists相关，那么后文为何要提及工业界biologists？易见无论如何这个funding和他们一点关系都没有

这道题的逻辑是这样的，专款现在可以向未被雇佣的大学生物学家开放了，但是只有很少的兴趣对这一提议被表示出（this offer特指前面那句话）。也就是说给你好处让你研究了，但是很少有人有兴趣。于是基于这一事实就想当然的推断所有对这个项目有兴趣的生物学家都已被雇用了，也就是说剩下没雇佣的都是不感兴趣的。这一观念是错误的。填空让你支持这个为什么错？
因为你观察到的事实只是说明了大学生物学家的反应，不能代表所有生物学家的态度，就比如有反例，有很多生物学家在工业企业，没有跟这次funding反馈的结果相关。怎么可以只通过大学生物学家的反应以偏盖全呢？还是有其他类生物学家可能对这个项目感兴趣但是没有被雇佣。
