ISSUE144 - "It is the artist, not the critic,* who gives society something of lasting value."
*a person who evaluates works of art, such as novels, films, music, paintings, etc.
字数:415
Artists is a group which when people mentioned, there will be a series of discussion, praise or debate. As the one who compose beauty and provide people the chance to enjoy the best things in the world, artists deserve the praise that they have given society something of lasting value. When we saw or mentioned an artwork, first sense come to our mind is that it possess something different and worth to be remembered. For instance, Mona Lisa has been so popular even today; the reason is that Vinci had gifted this work a particular painting skill. Mark Twain's .(MT 的例子不恰当,是LITERATURE不是ARTIST的例子)novels now have been so popular because the novel itself can reflect a thought. That is why we say the artists serve as indispensible in forming the lasting value感觉文章开头就是一个分论点,前面应该有个引段把你的PERSPECTIVE提出来总领全文
But it is unreasoned to say that only the artists are factors to forming social lasting value. Image if there is no critic engaged in these artworks, how things will be? People will only perceive the artwork meanings in a very superficial layer, only few people will understand the artwork in a professional way, let alone to access it. When the artwork only can be discussed in a particular small area, how can it become popular and lasting? Critics, who is responsible to evaluate works of art, just as a judger who give these work a "yes" or "no" judgment, at the same time give his judgment sufficient reasons. Then others can choose the either one to convince themselves. By this way, citizens understand and remember an artwork in a more easy way. The famous Mark Twain, whose novel was at first seemed as humoristic, got truly understanding not until the critics digged the underline means of the novels. After all, lots of artworks were not well-known until they are widely criticized.这段的开头首句过度,第二句设问然后就是论述了,这样安排个人觉得不太合理,还是应该把你这段的分论点提在段首的过渡中
Sometimes the critics are not so objective, and are easily to be used by political purposes. Mark Twain's works are noted to be anti-government because there is portrayal of political corruption in his books. Fortunately, perhaps people will never discover his hint mind if the critics had not pointed out it. Just because of his novel mind, people all over the world tend to learn and remember him. 这段段首虽然把VIEW提出来了单给人感觉太突然逻辑上缺少连贯性 MT的例子举的过于频繁了换几个更有代表性的
To sum up, there is no doubt that the artists should be affirmed for their creating of the social values, but it is unreasonable to say that the critics have no effect on the lasting values. Without the engagement of critics, the artworks will never flare brightly. 尾段总结还算到位
总体来看三个观点没有问题 但要注意论述的逻辑性和用词的准确性,我明天就考试了来攒人品了呵呵 祝我们成功吧 |
