This argument concludes that kappa opioids should be prescribed for women but not for men whenever pain medication is required. It also suggest thtat researchers should reevaluate the effects of all medications men and women. To support his conclusion, the speaker provides a study involving 28 men and 20 women who took same dosage of kappa opiodis when having their wisdom teeth extracted; according to the patients report, the female patient felt much less pain than the male patients, and the easing of time lasted longer for women. Although this argument seems well presented at the first blush, a careful examination would reveal how groundless the conclusion is.

The first problem with the argument is that the conclusion is simply based on the report from the study. However, reliability of the reports are doubtful. Common sense tell us feeling of pain is a subjective judgment, thus it may not reveal the actually level of patient's feeling. It is entirely possible that women patients in this study have a strong will than men, therefore they reported less pain than men.

Another problem with this argument is the validity and credibility of the study. The study only involved 28 men and 20 women, nevertheless, these patients might not are representative of men and women generally, thus it is impossible to draw any firm conclusions from it. Specifically the author overlook other possible factors that may lead to the women reported less pain than the men did. For instance, the women in the study might have a better skill in handling pain than men, or they were lack of willingness to recognize and report pain, comparing to the men. Until all these factors have been ruled out, the result of the study is worthless as evidence for the conclusion.

The last problem with this argument is the author commits a fallacy of hasty generalization. Even if the kappa opioids is more effective for women than men,  the different effects of kappa opioids can not be hastily generalized to other pain medications, let alone all medications. Thus the speaker's conclusion is completely unwarranted, and there is no reason that researchers should reevaluate the effects of all medications on men versus women.

In sum, the author’s evidences do not lend strong support to his conclusion. To strengthen the argument, the author must prove the study was conducted in a controlled environment where all other factors possibly affecting pain remained constant. To better access the argument, I would also need to know how effective kappa opioids is compared with other medications.

Although this argument seems well presented at the first blush, a careful examination would reveal how groundless the conclusion is.(这我写第一段的时候要简要概括的时候 我发现我也是一概括就好长好长)

The first problem with the argument is that the conclusion is simply based on the report from the study. However, reliability of the reports are doubtful.(明明就一个report为什么这边就reports了?)Common sense tell us feeling of pain is a subjective judgment, thus it may not reveal the actually level of patient's feeling. It is entirely possible that women patients in this study have a strong will than men, therefore they reported less pain than men.(个人觉得论据虽然有一定的说服能力,但是单薄了一点,可以多些几句,至少给人比较丰富的感觉)

Another problem with this argument is the validity and credibility of the study. (这个是不是和前一段的哪个reliability doubtful有点重复了?根据后面的论述,应该和前一段是有明显区别的,但是开头我觉得概括的不太好)The study only involved 28 men and 20 women, nevertheless, these patients might not are representative of men and women generally, thus it is impossible to draw any firm conclusions from it.

(这句句子结构貌似有点问题)Thus the speaker's conclusion is completely unwarranted, and there is no reason that researchers should reevaluate the effects of all medications on men versus women.(还是之前提的,论据可以多点)
