Why asked wether having broad knowledge of many academic subject better than to specialize in one specific subject,different people have different opinion.Some people think only when you specialize in on subject can you have achievement in this feild.However,I insisit broad knowledge can contribute to versitile peoron who is extremely necessary in these days.In order to make myself clear,I will give a couple of reasons.

To start with,broad knowledge help us better solve problems.As we all know,everything in the world interlocks with others.Nobody can survive alone.Thus in order to solve problems we need to analyze the network related to the things we are facing,which obviously require broad knowledge.Chemistry's application in art work is a case in the point.Assume you were a chemistist,you have a friend who is a curator of a museum.She want to buy a portrait which is cliamed as a authetic work of Van gogh for her museum.However,she don't know wether the it is ture or not.She turns to you for help.You can check pigment used by the painter in the picture and analyze the component of it.Then find some component in the pigment were not found at the Von gogh's time.Obviously,the portrait is fake.Without the knowledge about the character of the time when Vin gogh lived,no way can we find out the authenticity of the portrait.

Dispeite the problem solve ability,broad knowledge also makes students better prepared for their future career.Broad knowledge will surly give you advantages among the other competitors.Clearly, it can ensure you a better problem-solving ability just as the paragraph mentioned above,what's more it can serve as an effective communication tool as well.You can talk freely with any collegue in your workplace by the virture of the broad knowldge you own.A healthy relationship is extemely important since it determins your work envronment.

On the other hand,there is no doubt that specilaztion also has some advantages.Albert Einstein,the greastest scientist of the 20th century,was poor at daily life.It is not exaggerated to say that he could not live without his wife's care.Energy is so limited that we can only deveto it to the most worthwhile thing.However, the first step of deep exploration in one field is having broad knowledge.Only when we contact with many things can we find out which is the most simulating.

All in all,Granted energy is limited and we are supposed to devetoed one specific subject.But I still insist that broad knowledge is the foundation for specification since broad knowledge improve us a better porblem-solving ability and career opportunity

个人本科专业通信工程倾向于学信号处理或者传感器等不是很想学集成电路就业：读博 7：3，有好的机会想留，没有好的机会也完全接受回国找工。

Econ读博学校选择求助（UWA vs QUT）

目前，本人拿到了两个offer，一个是西澳大学经济学博士offer，一个是昆士兰科技大学经济学博士offer，希望好心人可以帮忙看看选哪个学校。 1.西澳大学(UWA) QS大学排名：72 QS学科排名：151-200 导师：有两个导师，主导是副教授，副导是教授（系主任，大佬，但可能没时间带我）研究方向：跟主导师研究方向契合度不算太高（主导主要研究政治经济学，而我研究发展经济学），仅有小部分重合，但是跟副导师研究方向十分契合（问题还是副导师大概率没时间带我）资金来源：获得了CSC提名和top up补助（算上CSC总共3w/年），无学费，在等5月底CSC结果， 2.昆士兰科技大学(QUT) QS大学排名：189 QS学科排名：201-250 导师：有三个导师，主导和副导均为副教授，三导是教授（大佬，但应该也不会主要带我，感觉还是主导主要负责）研究方向：跟主导师研究方向契合度高，跟三导研究方向契合度也高资金来源：拿到了全奖（3.4w/年），无学费，现在就可以申请签证我的疑问：应该选择哪个学校？虽然现在CSC结果还没出来，如果结果不好的话，直接走昆士兰科技，但是结果好的话，还是得从两个里面选一个。假如需要从两个学校里面选一个的话，实在是纠结的很，希望有人可以帮我分析分析。感谢大家了！
