到使馆的时候都过12点了。我们3个都没踩点过，感觉有些迷迷糊糊。大约12：30开始保
安念人名，围了很多人声音听不大清.
进去一路运气都特别好比如本来在队伍后面但是突然说站2队,我就升到第一个了...唯一
奇怪的是交表时我瞟到窗户里面的那个
护照号码对不上,还好我让他再翻一页我在下一页.

没有发现传说中的俊男美女签证官.签我的似乎是hfmm,我拿不准

Me:Good afternoon,...
Vo:...hence you will go to Columbia to study math...
M:Yes,number theory(=NT)..(被打断)
V：NT?
M:en, my intrested area. Do you heard of that(我ft,这样的低级错误。。。)（作欲
给他解释状，打算抽出预先准备好的纸what's NT）
V:（打断）（听不清）...useful...(猜是问专业有什么用)？
M：NT has no practical application...
V:Then why you do that?
M:(上钩了！暗喜)En,I am just intrested in that. I like numbers since I was a
child...
In fact NT is （想说是我的一切，但是MD那时候就忘记究竟英语是怎么说得）
everything to me...
There is an old Chinese saying:子非鱼安知鱼之乐（用中文），en, that
means:you are not a fish then how do you know the fish's pleasure?...
(hfmm一直在笑，不明白有啥好笑。但她不打断就继续)
Then do you know why my email address includes the number 1729?(笑着表示让我继
续)10times10times10 plus 9times9times9 equals 1729,OK?(V点头，我心想你算的这么
快？)12X12X12 plus 1 is also 1729...
V:...interesting...
M:(不能错过机会继续讲免得她问别的问题)what's more, 1729 is the smallest
numner with this property...
V:You get scholarship?
M:Yes they give me fellowship for 5years, Faculty Fellowship...
V:Do you have the offer letter?(她的英文我听得总不大明白，这是唯一一个听全的句
子)
M:赶紧递上
V：...after graduation?

M:I will come back to China...You know , to a mathematician, the more
important is not much much money, but a tenure position...I have my
advisor's SL, do you...
V:(摆手)You cannot find a position in US?
M:I don't mean that. I have more chance(觉得此前我说的都太快，放慢语速）in
China than in US. The fact is China has few faculty in NT, but US has a high
percentage of NT in the total faculty...
V开始笑，那意思似乎是说：这些大家都心知肚明，我懒得跟你纠缠了。。。
开始沉默敲键盘，时间感觉挺长的，本想问他要不要看resume但是害怕那个音发不准，免
了。。。狂睁大眼睛免得萎缩，同时瞟到桌面上没有发现黄条，不过直到那时我还不知道
究竟绿条好还是...
终于听到了第二句完全听懂的话:Go to Window NO 10...

领回护照和i20出来发现才1点15,立即想到'洪水'...
回来才知道原来我插队了:有个约12:30的和我同名,我约的是12:45正常估计要到2-3点才
搞得定,我占的是他的位子!(狂愧疚哈,虽然我知道这样的事情很正常,向我的名字全北大
都至少13个!)

最大的遗憾:拿到visa就直接出来了望了去厕所看看...
