TPO 30 独立写作
本帖最后由 onebelieve 于 2017-11-14 12:54 编辑
昨天的小伙伴提名的TPO 30 独立写作:
Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is more enjoyable to have a job where you work only three days a week for long hours than to have a job where you work five days a week for shorter hours. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
After about 6 years at home, playing with mud, and 16 years in school, struggling with textbooks, most of us will finally step into our career. It is safe to say that our job is the eternal subject of our lives since job accompanies us for the longest time. Thus, it is really common, normal or judicious to discuss what kind of job suits us better. Of course, people with different perspectives treat this question with different understanding. But for me, I shall not agree with the standpoint in the prompt. In other word, a relatively more frequent work schedule with shorter hours in each shift is better.
Firstly, working for a long time in a row is bad for our body. Just like we do not put the food we need to consume each day or each week in one single meal, we should also not put the whole amount of tasks for a week in three days. Once you overeat foods, your stomach, colon and other systems or organs of your body will be pushed into excess stress whose negative influence will accumulate, even causing serious diseases. Similarly, if you always work for a long time without appropriate rest or exercise, you may first feel stong uncomfortable feelings due to muscle strain which can be really irksome. And then, acuter malady may come after you and you can never get rid of it. This undesirable situation should be avoided instead of being encouraged.
Besides, there can be emergencies or regular events that needed to be handled on time. A man in financial industry will seldomly or never think of the first suggestion. Since on every workday, the transaction of stocks, gold or other financial product happens for millions of time, a financial practitioner needs to have the professionality to catch the information and analyze it timely. If he/she waited till his/her workday to finish the work mentioned before, then probally he/she would not have been enrolled in the first place or could be fired immediately. After all, time is equal to money in finance. On the other hand, even you are in some industries with lower intensity, you are also not equipped with the superpower to forecast that the events related to your work will only show up in the three days you pick as your workday. In this case, maybe you have to be recalled when you are supposed to be off work. That is definitely not what you preconceive in mind.
The disadvantages of the first kind of work shift are more obvious in the employers' perspective, meaning that even if someone likes it, the possibility of achieving it is perilous close to zero. In conclusion, for the sake of both our body and our job prospect, I would like to choose the second suggestion and stand in the opposite side of the prompt.
