美国威斯康星大学实验室招收带计算机Computer Science或者数据科学博士生研究生。研究生带奖学金。博士研究生的方向主要是医疗信息大数据，智能医疗系统，以及健康数据挖掘。这些方向在美国是热门研究和开发方向，有很好的工业界和学术界就业机会。项目会和本地大医院合作，有上百万医院病人的数据。发表一般文章不难。
研究生要求：计算机，软件工程，信息管理，医疗信息学背景；熟练编程和数据库操作，有一定数据科学和大数据研究经验。不必有高档次论文，有研究经验，特别是医疗信息学研究经验最好。申请工程学院BHI PHD。英语雅思6.5或者因COVID可以在网上完成英语测试。
生活上学校地理位置威斯康星密尔沃基，是威斯康星州最大城市。学校临近密歇根湖，环境舒适。有中国超市，餐馆，交通方便。

Opening of PhD (Computer Science, Health/Medical Informatics, Data Science)
We have interesting funded projects that aim to leverage novel Data Science technologies to discover new knowledge that facilitates clinical researcher and improves patient care. The major responsibilities of the PhD RA position are 1) develop novel software tools and databases to facilitate data-driven clinical research and knowledge discovery; 2) writing papers to publish research results in international/national conferences and journals
We fund a full-time PhD RA with tuition paid and stipend, starting Sept 2020.

Required skills and qualities:
1. Solid computer programming skills
2. Familiar with one of the relational databases, such as MySQL, SQL server etc
3. Willing to learn new computational technologies, such as machine learning, NLP, health data processing
4. Actively conducting research activities (e.g. literature review, writing research paper)
5. Good communication skills, can work as a team player or independently, self-motivated, has a ‘can-do’ attitude
Required degree:
1. Graduate students are preferred. The Principal Investigator Dr. Luo will guide the student to finish PhD degree.
2. Undergraduate students with solid programming skills and research experience are encouraged to apply as well.
Preferred skills (good-to-have):
1. Experience with data mining, text mining or machine learning is highly preferred
2. Knowledge of Health Informatics, Clinical Informatics, or Bioinformatics is a plus
3. Big data processing and analysis, such as computing cluster, AWS, Azure etc
