------题目------
The study of history places too much emphasis on individuals. The most significant events and trends in history were made possible not by the famous few, but by groups of people whose identities have long been forgotten.
------正文------
The author thinks that individuals are paid too much emphasis on when people study history, and he or she claims that it is groups of nameless people who determine the most significant events and trends in history . However, I probably disagree with this view . I think emphasis on individuals in the study of history is the best way satisfying the purpose of study of history. Meanwhile, because the famous few directly pointed out the right direction of the significant events and trends and offered a right way to solve the problems, the most significant events were more determined by the directors than by groups of nameless people.
To begin with, one of the most important purposes of study of history is to learn from the history experience and what is more important is to guide our today life. Admittedly, the effects of groups of people play great impact on our life. For example, the old Chinese developed the printing method which is the predecessor of the printer. Also, vintage technique is still using today. Yet, study of the key individuals probably is more useful to our today life . For one thing, it helps us to concentrate on the main developing direction and we can consider the history as a whole. A good case in point is that, Lincoln directed the independent action . Through study of Lincoln , including his background ,his political experience, his talks, and so on , we know the background of slaves, the acute conflicts of the north and south America, and so on. If we study individuals , we do not have to know how these slaves fought against vineyard owners and how they escaped from the bondage of the tragic life, which may trap us into the details. Since the situation is different now, those detail experiences are probably less useful for today. For another, study of individuals encourages people today directly learn from the forerunners, while study of groups of nameless people will have little effect on this point. For example, we learn from Stevie Wonder how to make one's own wonder, we learn from Winston Churchill how to stick to our own mind and never surrender, and we learn from Marie Curie how to face the difficulties . The famous ones instigate more and more general people to make themselves miracles. That is probably the most valuable of what we learn from history.
Meanwhile, the most significant events and trends are probably determined more by those famous few than by groups of nameless people. The famous ones mostly played a role as director of a group. They pointed out a right direction, which made the events and trends feasible. Also, they offered a right way to solve the problems , which led to the success and changed the history. For example, Deng xiaoping advanced improving Chinese economic by reformation, and then he advocated "open policy". Although the groups of people who participate in the reformation also play an important role , China can not develop so rapidly without Deng.
In summary, we can concentrate on the developing direction of history events and instigate people today to learn from history and make our own wonder by placing , thus emphasis on individuals in study of history is necessary. Also, because famous individuals point out the right direction of history trends and right way to solve problems in the most significant events, we can say that it is the famous individuals make possible the most significant events and trends.
