Issue 205
People often look for similarities, even between very different things, and even when it is unhelpful or harmful to do so. Instead, a thing should be considered on its own terms: we should avoid the tendency to compare it to something else.

Nowadays people prefer to compare one thing with another in order to learn which one is better, though they appears rather distinct. At same time, research on the thing goes further intended to understand its internal essentials. These two ways, reflecting the methods to make one thing more clear and understandable, have their own advantages.
The thing existing in the world must be have its own value, no matter it is easier for people use or adds more color to our life. We attempt to understand it on its own terms, such as appearance, usage and quality. For instance, TV, one of the most popular entertainment ways, affects our lives and brings happiness. The most crucial benefit of TV is that we can learn the events and news of the world immediately by just turning on it. It is speedy, convenient and vivid, presenting us a brand new image we never saw before. We can’t imagine what our life would be without TV. A survey recently conducted by ABC company is that 80 percent of people in our city spend 2 hours very night in front of TV.
The more key role TV play in daily life, the more interest inspired us to look for the reasons. Although TV is so powerful depending on its characteristics as I mentioned before, the true reason make TV outstanding just by comparing it with other media ways, such as newspaper and radio. These media style, originally playing dominant role before TV appears, gradually recess the market. We can understand one thing profoundly though comparison, but first, we should consider it on its own terms.
Medicine is another good example to illustrate the opinion. One drug, developed to one specific disease, should have this principle and method to explain what effects it have. Before it is put into market, the scientists will organized the test to verify its effectiveness and benefits. The comparison plays the key role in the process of the test because two groups of people, randomly, have the medicine and planeco at the same time and see the results.
Thus, we mustn’t avoid the tendency to compare one thing with another and furthermore, we should strengthen the importance the comparison to research and explore one thing. We can analyze and learn one thing more clearly through the two tools: the study on its nature and comparing it with other things.

本科社科专业，目前在这三个offer里纠结。爱宝排名高但听说课业压力很大，杜伦专业比较好不过排名比较低，瓦大的专业偏向商科，两年制有实习安排，但学校排名低，不确定这个专业荷兰找工情况如何。爱宝如果要读大概率要去读语言班，杜伦和瓦大都达到语言要求了。不过杜伦这个专业今年学费涨了，三个相比的话整体花费应该差不多。想以在海外找工优先考虑，问问大家的意见。

请求指点这两个offer应该如何抉择

巴政Econ VS 博科尼ESS

BG：中九 3.7/4 Top20% 雅思7（5.5） GRE325，数学基础不太好，无研究经验，无硕士博士课程，感觉绩点也水水的本科水水的…… 已交博科尼ESS留位费（2.8w人民币），巴政Master in Economics因为推荐信问题把我延到第二轮了，今天凌晨才出结果个人目前对博科尼ESS项目最担心的就是卷不过TT，之前的笔记有讲笨人没什么学术经验，数学课成绩也不好，害怕在大班里面一旦落后就得不到资源，感觉小班的话师生同学联系会更加紧密更包容一些，人均资源也会多一些；但是巴政学费略高于博科尼（15万/年 vs 13万/年），生活成本法国应该也高于意大利。Placement的话感觉巴政样本太少了很难比，看各个论坛上这两个项目的风评都挺好的，所以正在纠结。

求大佬们帮忙选offer
