------题目------
The following was posted on an Internet real estate discussion site.
'Of the two leading real estate firms in our town—Adams Realty and Fitch Realty—Adams is clearly superior. Adams has 40 real estate agents. In contrast, Fitch has 25, many of whom work only part-time. Moreover, Adams' revenue last year was twice as high as that of Fitch, and included home sales that averaged $168,000, compared to Fitch's $144,000. Homes listed with Adams sell faster as well: ten years ago, I listed my home with Fitch and it took more than four months to sell; last year, when I sold another home, I listed it with Adams, and it took only one month. Thus, if you want to sell your home quickly and at a good price, you should use Adams.'

In this argument, to substantiate the conclusion, the arguer points out that Adams has more estate agents than Fitch, and Adam's revenue last year was twice as high as that of Fitch. In addition, the arguer cites the example of his/her own experience that Adams sells home quickly. However, the argument is well-presented, but not thoroughly well-reasoned.
First of all, the arguer is failing to provide concrete information about Adam's estate agents. It is possible that Adams also have part-time agents. Furthermore, how about the quality of the estate agents in Adams? The big amount of agents in Adam cannot demonstrate that their efficiencies are higher than Fitch's. Actually, quantity cannot equal to quality.
Secondly, the argument is based on a false analogy. The arguer does not provide any evidence that Adam and Fitch are indeed comparable. It is likely that the sizes of two estate firms are totally different. According to Adam, perhaps $168,000 is not high revenue; because they may spend a lot of money on advertisement, staff training and so on. On the contrary, Fitch may be just a small firm, and $144,000 is really an excellent revenue. As a result, Adam and Fitch do not establish a warranted analogy.
Last, the evidence the arguer provides is insufficient to support the conclusion drawn from it. One example is insufficient to establish a general conclusion. Based on the arguer's specific experience, it is logically unsounded to make suggestion for all the consumers. Maybe the reason why Fitch sells home slowly is caused by season. It is highly possible that the season of Fitch is hard to sell home, while the Adam's is easier. So this example is not representative of all.
Overall, the reasoning behind the Adams being more superior seems logic as presented above. However, before any final decisions are made about the choice of the two estate firms, people should investigate more details to prevent from hasty generalization.(322 words)
