"The human mind will always be superior to machines because machines are only tools of human minds."
It is true that machines are tools of human minds. But will the human mind always be superior to machines as the speaker asserts.(问号) As far as I am concerned, I believe that both of the human mind and machines have their own advantages. The relationship between them is complicated and it is no need for one to be superior to the other completely.(这句好怪啊。用there be句型吧?)
To begin with, we human being(s), are the highest form of living creature(s) in at least the earth(on earth,in the earth就到土里去了吧?). Owning to the power of our minds, we, who are weaker than tiger(s), run slowly than horse(s), can not fly as do birds, eventually become the unquestionable ruler of the earth. We drive automobiles, pilot planes, launch rockets and run computers. No matter how large and how complicated and how powerful these machines are, we are the master at all time. We give commends(commands) and machines follow it(them). If we are not satisfy(satisfied) with a machine, we can change it and add it with new functions and make it robust than ever before. It seems that we can do whatever we want to do. All in all, we are the master, machines servants. So it is tempting to assume that the human mind is always superior to machines which are made under the instruction of the human mind. Unfortunately, this assumption fails to recognize two facts which I will discuss as below.(这段几个排比真不错!)
Firstly, although we have such a dignity role in the world, it does not necessary(necessarily) mean that the human mind is definitely superior to machines in all aspects. The human mind does have its limitations. For example, let us add integers from one to one hundred. It took at least several minutes for our mathematics(mathematical) genius Gauss to give a right answer, not mention to(not to mention for) us ordinary men. As to computer, however, it will not need just one second to finish this job. It is hard for us to recite even one book while it is just a piece of cake for a computer to reserve all the information of a whole library. In 1997, computer Deep Blue defeated Kasparov who was the reigning world chess champion at that time. So when we confront with a computer, how can we say that the human mind is superior to it?(这段举了很多不错的例子,不过关键的原因没有点出来,到底计算机什么地方比我们强呢?
Secondly, if machines are inferior to the human mind, then why do we make them? Is it just because machines can lift more weight, run faster or act more accurately than we can? Of cause it is, but that is not comprehensive. Machine can think as we do, but in a different manner which we can’t. In fact, machine now play such an important role in all aspect of our daily life that even we ourselves could not replace it. For example, without computer, an intelligent machine, we can even hardly manage a large mall. Without computer, we can hardly go on with most (of)our scientific research. Without computer, we can never send human being(s) out to the space. Nowadays we rely increasingly to(on) machines not only for their peerless strength but also for their mighty mind.(同意udo关于末句的意见。
To sum up, as to the human mind and machines, it is unwise to say that one is always superior to the other. They all have their own advantages against each other. What we shall do is to make full use of their advantages and offset their shortcomings. |
