95.People work more productively in teams than individually. Teamwork requires cooperation, which motivates people much more than individual competition does.

I strongly agree that cooperation of teamwork motivates people much more that individual competition does. In China, there is an adage: "the more number of people, the more power." Cooperation can help people to get great success and meantime it also can offset the shortage of individuals. To success, cooperation is one of the indispensable factors.

In the first place, in the fierce competition of contemporary science and technology, individual competition can hardly make any remarkable achievements. Along with fast development of science and technology, the success and achievement requires people who has knowledge and skill of different fields. In fact, few of people have so much knowledge, so it needs the cooperation of different people. For example, if a company want to produce a plane, it will has to find different fields' people including designers, engineers, artificers, supervisor, etc. Without any field's people, the plane can not be produced and it does not say nothing of relying individual. So if you want to achieve great success, you, sometimes, must need cooperation with other people.

In the second place, teamwork is proper for the present requirements in many fields. Take a battle as example, it is well know that hero is useful and necessary to a battle or a war, but teamwork is more important than the effect of individual. Though a hero is powerful and valiant, it is impossible that he can beat hundred of even thousand of enemies at the same time. So teamwork, in this time, is crucial to a victory of the battle. Moreover, present tasks are hardly completed only with individual efforts. For example, a computer, including different parts such as hardware, software, display and so on, is produced by the cooperation of people because it needs varieties of knowledge, needs people discussing with a favorable atmosphere, and needs the opportunity for meeting new idea. Being short of any factor, it can not achieve success, just like If you have no hand you can't make a fist.

Certainly, individual competition is also important, however, in modern science, teamwork is more efficient. While the teamwork does good to people in active ways such as encouraging, directing, discussing and assisting, individual competition can benefit people in passive way such as pressing, struggling, and risking. In fact, any individual member of the teamwork must be efficient, must have the individual pressure, otherwise, he will not able to meet the assigned task from the teamwork. The whole teamwork itself is a "individual organization", every people must make his effort that the whole community can win.

In sum, from what has been discussed above, we may draw the conclusion that it is very crucial to recognize the importance of teamwork. Instead of immersing oneself just into the pursuit of individual competition, we should unite to face with the challenges, if we want to gain a splendid victory.
