Issue127 Tradition and modernization areincompatible. One must choose between them.

Tradition or modernization is sometimes aunique choice for many people, who think they are incompatible. But in my opinion, we can benefit a great deal through combining them to enhance human being’s ken and living condition. If we pay more attention to one of them, we may probably lose more than we anticipate.

A person who emphasizes more on tradition would involve some problems, as others might think he is a fusty man with a lotof banal suggestions. For instance, my father is an over-conservative man. In his mind, a girl dancing with a boy is not allowed. On the contrast, I liked dancing very much and I thought it is a kind of sports which can pull my body into good condition. After a long fight between my father and me, I gave up it at last. Not only had my father made this depressed event happen to me, but he also quarreled with my mother in order to insist on his tradition. Through myfather’s examples beside me, I think some banal tradition may prevent the wholesociety from developing fast, or even slow the social development.

Every coin has two sides. A person who emphasizes more on modernization would also bring some obsessions. First,people may gradually lose the human nature when modernization takes animportant part in the daily live, because in a modern society, more competition there exist, more important the money is. Secondly, people may become lazier and lazier by using the modern technology instead of traditional work. So, it is possible that over modernization would disturb the social harmonious and bring some social problems to us.

Certainly, human beings should pursue the modernization in order to develop country and bring finance, but the best way to promote social balance is considering the tradition when we pursue the maximum at modernization. Looking back to tradition can always remind us not to walk the wrong way and strengthen our confidence.

In sum, the issue claims that tradition and modernization are incompatible and one must choose between them. However, it is unnecessary to divide them into each other, because they are not contrary. In my view, tradition and modernization jointly make up the whole society and we need both of them. Tradition with modernization, social developing would be accelerated. Modernization with tradition, social harmony would be advanced.

芬兰赫尔辛基 VS 继续等德国学校出结果

楼主有幸拿了赫尔辛基CS的全奖offer，但是因为本身申请的最初目的是想留下找工的，所以一直想去德国。但是现在五月中旬我所有的德国申请没有一点消息，等待很艰难。在想着要不要接了芬兰的开始准备了。主要原因有几点： 1. 芬兰安全，且学生生活还是很愉快的 2. 芬兰毕业后可以去欧陆其他国家找工但是不知道可行性如何，来求助一下uu们的意见，谢谢大家了?

麦马是CAS，computing and software，需要完成一个独立项目，学制较灵活，可选择coop。滑铁卢是ECE，需要连续上课，最快12个月完成，没办法实习，但学校和专业排名更好。

南加大担心预算不够，仅百万预算。不太清楚南加大的MS EE要多少钱，了解的uu麻烦评论区讲讲。目标：润＞读博＞回国找工 VLSI集成电路那边接触较少，可能跨度会比较大。据说USC人多？师生比不太好？
