writing(Technology):

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Modern technology is creating a single world culture. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.

With the fast development of the world, nowadays, modern technology is widespread to all aspects of our daily life. Some one praise technology for improving our life to be more comfortable, while others are criticizing it is creating a single world culture at the same time. As far as I concerned, I do not agree with the conclusion that technology leads our culture to be simplification. The detailed reasons will be illustrated as following.

In the first place of analysis, I concede that technology helps us to have a view to other culture, but cognizing does not mean uniting them. With watching TV, surfing on the Internet, more and more information rush into our mind, which we can not gain ever before. For example, before technology having development, turning to some old records, such as the travel notes written by Marco Polo, may be the only method for people in the west to "feel" the culture in oriental country, such as India and China. And obviously, these notes or books are so old that they can not represent the culture nowadays. When having a computer and surfing on line, they can easily know the Chinese culture of connotation just by a search and click on web. Moreover, technology is boosting the quality of cognition about culture. Video and sound could be transmitted over world, which could make us know other culture more generally and comprehensively.

In addition, culture is developing towards multiplicity all the time, which could not monotonize the hundreds of culture. Firstly, culture forms in thousands of years throughout the history of human being. Culture, called to be the summarizing of some people's habits, hobbies, world values, and likes and dislikes, could be changed at short time because of its deeply root in residents. On the other hand, although culture in an area could be changed after large-scale of years, different cultures in different areas are still various finally. People do learn other culture by the use of technology, but culture changes because of not only people's behaviors, but also other factors, such as climate. For example, people find out clothes, an important part of culture, in Tibet is very characteristic as a result of their changeable weather there. But it is difficult for other area's people to dress in that way because of the limit of climate.

Although technology helps us a lot to know other's life and culture, they can not exchange culture or even simplify culture, because changing culture is not so easy that only technology could do.
