In this era of rapid development of science and technology, debates on what people live for arise. Is money is the only thing we are looking for? (Commends: DON’T use whether in this manner. It is Chinese way. ) Is it the only responsibility for corporate executives to maximum the profit of their companies provided they stay within the law? Just as the writer claims, these corporate executives are leading the company and many critical issues in their companies are counting on them, however, I question the word ‘only’ which means that the corporate executives don’t have to worry about anything else but money Beside the basic responsibility, in my opinion, the corporate executive should also take into many other things into consideration such as environment and benefit of their employees. (commends: to list down what are the other things, it is kind of topic sentence)
To begin with, I have to concede, one of the top aims of corporate executives is to make as much money as possible (Commends: you wrote “as much as money as possible”, this is a stupid mistake because there is the same phrase in their topic). On one hand, as the corporate executives are endowed their current position primarily due to their superior(?) competence in money making, they bear the responsibility of maximizing the profits of the company since the day they were entitled with the position of corporate executives. On the other hand, whether enough money can be made is the key of a company's subsistence. As the economic theoretic mentions, a company is organized for their capacity to save more money-correspondingly with more profit- in the sense that a small market forms in the company itself which avoids the waste of transferring fund. Thus, the existing reason for the company itself is that it enables more profits available. Without making profit for the company, the corporate executives may lose their place with the collapse of the company. Therefore, not only in order to complete the hope of the workers (?) but also maintain(?) his job, the corporate executives have to take on the responsibility of making as much money as possible provided they stay within the law. (Commends, This paragraph is not the key point of this essay, you short cut it short)
However, money is not the only issue that the cooperative executive should aim at, even if that they are staying within the law. As a responsible company, the corporate executive should also be accountable for many other things such as the employees, its customers and most important the society.
Firstly, for the employees, they should be provided opportunities for self-improvement as well as a good balance of work and life. For example, too much work load is no good for employees’ health in spite that more money can be made in such a way, in stead, proper holidays and welfare should be offered. And the training courses should also be regularly provides. In fact, although the company may not acquire direct benefits from such kind of investment in short term, indirect benefits as a result of the improved ability of its workers will wait in the future..
Secondly, the quality of the products in the company should be emphasizes, for it has great relation with the interests of the customer. Though the company can get a lot from high productivity, the secure and satisfaction of its customer's using these products should not be ignored. Just as a saying popular in business circle goes,’ Customers are the gods,’ without best treatment customers will turn for other products or service. the interest of the customers is not only a problem of themselves but also associated with the destiny of the company.
Thirdly, contribution to the society is a necessary return for the society's offering materials and opportunities for its acquiring high profits. On the one hand, a responsible cooperate executive should realize that many people are suffering starvation or unemployment when large profits are flowing into the company. Donation for some charity will be a necessary and meaningful action as well as a contribution for the esteem of the company. On the other hand, the mother of our human beings- the nature- will never be too much cared. However, wastes and pollution brought by many industries have encountered a lot of problems to our environment now. To maximum profit these corporate executives overlook everything else including the environment. And nature began to revenge. Global warming, sandstorm and acid rain are only the admonition that the nature gives What else will follow if more detrimental actions are done to the environment? No one knows the concrete answer, but we all know whether it is bad or good.
With all the analysis above, I just want to illustrate that it’s far away from being a good corporate executive with only making as much money as possible. |
