We are living in times when leaders of any profession-business, politics, government, education-is paid [ is paid改成pay ] ever more attention on their leadership. It is widely discussed that in any realm a leader should step down after a few years. I believe that it is a good idea to revitalize through new leadership indeed. However, it is still a problem which needs our case-by-case analysis.
Any leader is just like a driver who is responsible to keep the car in the right direction. Although a lot of experience is what a good driver must possess, holding the position for an excessively long time give rise to some problems. As we all know, long term even life term [life tenure] is often accompanying with corruption and autocracy if self-ambition is given precedence over the welfare of a corporation or a country. Take Stalin as an example. Despite that he led his civilians to achieve a lot of great exploit, the excessive worship of him and cruel clearing to some of his subordinates almost ruins the future of the former Soviet [Union]. These all arise from that the more and more power he possessed as the increasing years when he is [was] the leader. Here I'd like to provide another instance. In ancient China, an emperor steps down only when he is dead unless his government is overthrown. Thus many emperors tended to enjoy lives rather than managing [manage] the whole country and fight for the welfare of his civilians. That is always a symbol of the death of a dynasty no matter what prosperity it ever enjoyed.

Therefore, the change of a leader and even an executive level is indispensable in many cases, not only because it avoids such corruption and autocracy, but also it provides new vigor into the business or the country. As we can imagine, a new leader which [who] is probably has another way to manage the cooperation or the country will adjust the direction of his corporation or his country. Since everyone has different talent in different realms, the new leader or his think tank may amend the existed laws or regulations so that they can adapt to the changing world or a changing market; and provide new methods to solve some problems which could be very stubborn for the former leader. That's why a majority of the countries in the world legislate the term of its leader. For example the term of a president in USA is 4 years while the General Secretary in the United Nations is a 5-year-term. It presents the democracy and vigorous leadership. To sum up, since revitalization can not only avoid some problems but also provide new ways of managing, the leaders in many professions should step down after a few years.
However, it cannot be applied to any field since it is still a case-by-case problem. In many fields where the experience plays a more vital role in the leadership, changing leaders frequently is not a wise regulation. For example, a captain of a ship, especially one of a huge ship which transports in the ocean, is almost a figure of a white-hair old man with wisdom and braveness. Probably you have never seen a young captain despite the Captain Jack in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. That is because the captain of a ship needs a lot of experience which is gained from many years, for example 20 years, as a sailor. Revitalization like a president of USA seems not a effective method to guarantee a powerful leadership. Therefore, the answer to the question whether changing the leader for a relatively short time, 5 years as the issue mentioned, is different in accordance with different realms.
In summary, I consent to the revitalization through new leadership since it provides new ways of managing and avoid unexpected problems such as corruption and autocracy so that the business, education, government and so forth will always be in the right direction. However, it is not a wise way in some realms and a case-by-case analysis is necessary. Only in this way can we make sure that every profession develops in an effective way.
