Nowadays, a growing number of people are willing to give the payments of teachers by their students’ performances. However, in my point of view, the reward of a teacher should be measured by the improvements made by the students rather than performances.

To begin with, the levels of students are different from one class to another. It is a common phenomenon that a large number of students try hard to get into the famous school which is known to the majority of people for its good quality in teaching. On the contrary, few of good students are willing to enter the schools especially which are notorious in their parents’ mind. Thus, it is unfair to judge the teachers’ work only by the performances of the students. Common sense tells me that good teachers are in different schools for different reasons and the main distinction between better schools and worse ones is the rate of good teachers. Thus, we cannot deny the teachers who have skilled methods to teach students, but teach someone not good at studying are in some notorious schools. Thus, the measurement using performances is not dependable to some extent.

What’s more, the representation of students must be influenced by the environment factors. When coming to the undeveloped countryside where is not well-equipped in its facilities, the students here are craving for the knowledge for the simple reason that they are eager to change their lives by the means of learning. But in the big city, most of the students do not have the same feeling of the students in the countryside. Thus, the payment should not be weighed in this way, which can only show the eagerness of the students rather their teachers.

At last, in my opinion, we should pay the teachers by the improvements of the students. No matter what condition and which level we are in, we can totally provide a more scientific way to judge the teachers’ capability in learning—the worth of the teacher. Using this way can makes us easier in getting teachers’ real value and more chances for students to find qualified teachers.

In conclusion, judging teachers by the representation of the students is unfair for the different circumstances which they will confront. Thus considering the improvements of students in the payment could be more realistic.
