Iridium, a hard, whitish metal similar to platinum, is extremely rare on Earth. Extremely high
concentrations of iridium on Earth result from only two scenarios: massive volcanic eruptions that
release iridium from deep within the Earth and meteorites that shower down on Earth from space.
When scientists found concentrations of iridium 30 times higher than normal in rock stratum from 65
million years ago, they concluded that a massive meteor or comet hit the Earth and caused the massive
extinction of the dinosaurs.

这句话的意思是现在的Iridium含量比过去的多30倍还是过去的比现在的含量高30倍？
求解答。

rock from 65million years ago 中的含量是一般的30倍（同时顺带注意，不是多30倍，而是总共是30倍。A is 30 times higher than B means A=30B）

可是我好像见过一个数学题中说的 A is 30 times more than B,
这个表示的是A 是B 的30倍还多点吧？？ ~~ 谢谢你的回答 - - 10.13号就考了，有蛮虚！！！！

我前几天就这个问题纠结过，然后问过一个美国同学，她说意思是A=30B，因为times表示倍数而不能累积

刚刚去问了院里Writing center帮我们改paper的员工了，

A is 3 times higher than B means A=3B
A is 3 times more than B means A=4B

我昨天问的一个美国那边的人，
他说A is more than 30 times B    A>30B.
   A is 30 times more than B    A=30B.
后来又问了一个美国人，他说，that' s correct. = =

不好意思，这里打错了。
第二个应该是
A is 30 time more than B.
