Do human belong to nature? After industry revolution, human feel that we can change the world, but during past decades human gradually realize that human are part of the nature and belong to nature and human's development can't transcend the nature's development. Based on this point, I don't think attracting more tourists to the wilderness areas is a practical and effective method to protect these areas through environmentally sensitive projects.
Because human live in the nature , belong to nature and is part of nature, saving animals and plants is saving ourselves. Protecting wilderness areas intends to save animals and plant lived on the earth, because some distinctive animals have already been killed or hunted for money and some precious plants have been destroyed by the damage of forest. Panda and tiger whose fur and skin is valuable were hunt by inhumane hunter. Rhinoceros and African elephant who has precious horn also were hunt by brutal people .A kind of fish living in the Yangtze River who has very delicious flesh were grasped by fishers. All of these actions result in a rapic decrease of these species. If we don't enact same laws to protect them, they will extinct.
Like human, animals and plants have their own living condition, if the environment is damaged or changed, it is not certain that they can adapt to it or withstand it. The earth has five climatic zones named tropical, subtropical, temperate, cold and polar. Once animals are moved to the climate zone other than its living zone, they will die. As we all know tropical fish is hard to breed in temperate zone, because it must live in warm and salty water. Both polar bear and penguin lived in an exteme cold condition, if they are moved to warmer district they won't live well. Even human moving to a new place need to adapt to it. Keeping animals in their living area is the best way to protect them, because animals live with each other, take care of each other and even mutually help each other. For living in a natural surrounding is vital for these creatures' lives, human shoule be kept away from such areas.
In order to let more people understand or appreciate natural animals' living style, tourists are allowed to enter these regions. But too many tourists will definitely influence the normal life of these protected creatures. Even people's tiny action will have effect on their life. Take animal in zoos as an example, everyday hundreds of or even thousands people go to zoo to looking animals. Those animals are bred by feeder in the zoo, they adapt to people's enjoyment on them. These animals totally lose their survival ability in the nature. I think they are not a natural animal any more, but a public pet for human. With the increasing tourists in the protected wilderness areas, animal in there will also changed to public pets for human.
As a summary, for the purpose of founding protective wilderness areas is protecting animals from the influence of human beings' action, we should let them alone and should not interrupt them living habit. Only by doing so, those animals can be protected indeedly.
