Do you agree or disagree with the following statement.
People who cannot accept the criticism from others will not be successful at working in a group.

  When working in a group, the most valued quality for the group members would be the ability of teamwork. That includes we should be capable of trust and listening to our group fellows and accept their criticism   when necessary. Those who turn a deaf ear to others’ criticism and stick to themselves can’t be successful as a group member, for criticism would be a reminder for us to be conscious of our method, as well as accepting them would help to maintain a good relationship among the group members.

  Everybody in the group enjoys others’ nodding assent, but nobody can’t be right forever. Refusing criticism often prevent us reflect our method and correct our shortcomings. My friend used to be in a journalist group of 6 people in the radio station, and was criticized by one of his team members of editing their radio program with a outdated software, my friend used to good at this software and turned a cold should to his fellow journalist, it turns out one day the software collapsed, the work end up being totally deleted by the unstable system and my friend couldn’t regret more. Had him accept the criticism, he could practice a new skill as well as save the group work from unintended damage. Each of us are limited in experience and knowledge, working in a group can help make up.  If we open to criticism, we’re opening to a broader range of wisdom and attaining comprehensive thinking, as well as our ability to handle conflict, which together would ultimately help us to succeed in the group.

   Moreover, to be successful as part of a group, we should have a solid relationship with our fellow members. I used lead a team of sales case presentation, one of them complained about my examples was irrelevant with the case, I looked my example and accept his criticism and found out he is more attentive to help the team to gather information, our presentation case won the first prize at school. Had I ignored his criticism, I could never be the lead of No.1. I realized that by Listening and accepting their criticism we show respect, making the group more united to realize a common goal.

  In sum, if we aspire to success in a group, listening and accepting criticism of others is essential, for it can both develop themselves as well as attain a good relationship in the group. On the contrary, those who can’t accept criticism would fail in personal progress and winning fellows, thus can’t be success in a group in all.
