It is always an individual who is the impetus for innovation; the details may be worked out by a team, but true innovation results from the enterprise and unique perception of an individual.

The writer contends that true innovation comes from the enterprise and unique perception of single genius. From the aspects of arts and scientific advancement in history, I agree with his contention. However, in modern society the improvement of most areas like business and sciences it is not fairly to deny the ratio of teamwork occupying innovation. Actually, this ratio is increasingly larger today than before.

Individual innovation indeed possessed a preponderant position in most areas in history. Especially in the arts and literature, works in a completely new style is always composed by individuals such as Shakespeare’s scenarios and Van Gogh’s painting both created due to the author’s impetus. In fact, if a new style created by artists well fits the appetite of mass, it will suddenly turns popular and a new genre is born which we call the innovation. When it comes to scientific area, the examples of innovative people are numerous. Such as the bulb's inventor Tomas Edison and Copernicus who establish the Sun-Centered Theory. Another example aptly illustrates the writer's contention is Einstein. Uncertainly his relative theory is from his own hand. They are great scientists who promote the advancement of science by own force. It well illustrate the fact that individual gives the impetus for innovation.

On the other hand, today's innovation requires teamwork more than single individuals. In the field of business, a success company usually holds one or dozens of teams to have the work done. Such as Dell and IBM, there are thousands of PHD working there who have been proved to have the innovation ability when they are in college. But in the company they are divided into teams each consisting of five or six because today's work is rather complicated compared to the work in the past. A huge project needs several small innovations which can not work out by one individual. Such example can also be found in biological area. Watson and Crick describe the structure of DNA. But Nobel Prize did not choose to separate one person from them to be awarded because this innovated work is done by both of them. Without any one, the left biologist can not complete the work.

What should be added is that there do exist some projects today are started innovatively by one person. A straightforward example is the Project of Human Genome which was first devised by an American scientist in his paper published in 1986. And another striking example is when Chinese were facing SARS, a doctor called Zhong Nanshan first provided an effective way of treatment which saved hundreds of patients' lives. They are all started by one person, but actually the continuing work which still needs innovation are worked by other individuals together in the team.      

To sum up, both of the two types of innovation exists. Though many examples of individual impetus for the advancement, as advancement of our society requiring more innovation, it will need more cooperative work rather than individual deed.

思路很清楚！但是我感觉论证不很有力，作者虽然举了很多的例子可是基本上都是依据带过得，我总觉得说得在详细一些会更好，还有this ratio is increasingly larger today than before这个观点在后文没有得到体现哦？
