TOPIC: ISSUE51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."

Though no one could deny that interests actually play a crucial role in education, it is not the same to conclude that only the education which is designed according to individual interests and needs is effective. After all there are other factors which will also affect the result of education ()such as the basis courses. Not to mention that the idea to design specific education according each one’s characteristic is not feasible in real word.(Besides, the idea to design the specific education schedual for each student is not feasible in real world.)
To begin with, it will be more effective for students to learn when the education they get is based on their own interests As we all know, when learning knowledge which students have interests on, they will listen to the teachers more carefully in the class, and even after class they are willing to spend time on it to study it further. In this case, students have more motives to learn the course, which is totally different when they are forced to learn the course they feel boring. Thus, education will be more effective when students are learning the course which they are interests in.
However, it is unfairly to conclude that only the education which is designed to meet individual interests will therefore be effective. There are two major reasons to object the point.
First, the true target of education is not to produce learned people but to produce learning people. That is to say, it is not only significant to pass knowledge in the past to students, but also necessary to equip them with the ability to learn knowledge in the future by their own effort. In this case, there is no need to hasty to find out the real interests of students and pass the related knowledge to them, especially considering that it is really hard, even impossible, to find the real interests of children, and that their interests are likely to change during their lives. Thus, it is more significant to equip them with the basic knowledge and skills of learning. Under this circumstance, it does not that matter whether they have interest in the basic skills and knowledge due to that they are necessary for their life-long learnig.( and in this case there is no necessity that the courses are right those they are fond of.) Second, another crucial target of
education is to help students foster a proper value of both their lives and the world. After all, the basic moral and ethic criteria is necessary of each people. Without that, there is no right guide for both their life and career and they will be more destructive rather than constructive for the society no matter how much knowledge they have learned.
For example, image a person who acquires the most advanced knowledge of nuclear weapon but is not aware of significant of peaceful of the world. He or she will be a thread to the world that he may do damage and even destroy to the world. In this case, though he is effectively taught, he is more a thread to the world. Thus, given the true goal of education, it is unfairly to only consider students’ interests when designing education.
Furthermore, some people may claim that the disadvantages of interest-based education mentioned above may be made up by educators if they also take into the actual needs of students besides interest when designing. Nevertheless, even though, it is still infeasible to realize the imagination due to the limited education resources. Comparing the numerous students and the relative small quantity of educators, how could it be possible
to actually design a specific education according to each one's characteristic? And besides, it will also be a difficult problem for school to arrange curriculum when almost all its students have complete different curriculums. Even though the problems above could be solved, there will be few education resources left, and that it to say there is no insurance for the quality of courses now matter how reasonable they are designed. In this case, though it is really crucial to take the individual characteristics into consideration when designing education, there is no need to design a specific education for each student. Just as that there is no need to make clothes of various sizes according to each person's own shape.
In the final analysis, though interest and individual characteristic play a significant role in education, it is still unreasonable to design a specific education for each student due to it is unfeasible and there is also other factors which effect the result of education.
