关于CMU的MS和MSP

想申Carnegie Mellon 的统计硕士，它有两个项目，一个是MS,一个是The Master's in Statistical Practice Program ，请问哪个比较好？能介绍一下吗？

其实这种项目学校都会有具体介绍的。可能是上的课不同。
而且你完全可以GOOGLE关键词。 因为等别人回复的时候可能还没你自己搜索来的快 呵呵

MSP是很职业化的，课程里面还有教写简历和面试技巧的。而且培养目标里有business，government，industry等，还说明了这个项目的学生在job market上很有竞争力。
MS貌似学术一点，课程灵活性不大，主要是培养government,industry里的statistician，时间是一年到一年半吧。。。
我也在考虑这个项目呢，咔咔~

MSP: it's much easier to get admission than MS
To be honest, I heard that Stat@CMU never give offer to student from mainland China with BS. since several years ago there was one with bad performance

CMU的统计phd据说过去十几年没有直接从大陆招过中国人，整个系几乎见不到中国人，和大多数北美统计系的情况很不同。但是去年是第一次破冰，也许以后情况会逐渐利好。

and i really doubt what you said... because I checked some of the current PHD students profile on CMU stat department... there are decent number of Chinese names...

ok... i counted.... there are like 9 students who should be mainlanders based on their first names... which is a relatively small number....

And not too many Asians either...

我说的是真的。他家的习惯是先拉一个望不到头的waiting list，然后拖到很晚再告诉你。美国本土的学生可能会很早就搞定offer，国际学生在他家吃亏是肯定的。去年那位最后幸运地从wl转成offer的，是绝对的破了历史纪录。你若不信，直接发邮件去问问那几个中国学生。
