Nowadays,there is a general debate over the phenomenon of children playing computer games.Those who object that argue that playing computer games is kind of wasting time and children should spend their precious time studying. However,people who advocate it,on the other hand, claim that it is OK (Generally speaking, casual acronyms sometimes appear too casual in formal writings. You can use 'okay'. But this is just a personal preference and is not a must.) for children to play computer games (and their major reason would be? If you just stop at repeating the question's topic sentence, you won't be able to add much meaningful weight to the discussion. Be more specific. Be more insightful.). But for me,I support the former for the following reasons:
The majority of Computer games are not designed for children only (I'm wondering why you used 'only'. If something is not for children 'only', then it's probably for both children and adults. You could just stop at 'games are not designed for children', and it'll be perfectly clear that they are not for children. Not at all, period.), so if children, unfortunately, play such games, that (What?) may exert negative effects on their growth. For example, on the Internet,we can download everything we want without any steps to check? (Who does this 'check'? The person who's downloading stuff?) our personal information. That makes it easy for children to download some games that might contains “adult only” contents, such as violence, bloody scenes or even pornography. Those are forbidden contents for children to touch outside the computer games?, and many parents and their peers are trying hard to keep their children away from those things. If we allow children to play computer games, not only will that exert negative effects on children, but also devastate parents and their peers’ efforts of giving a healthy environment for children to grow up. (This is interestingly skewed logic. Now, you say that the adult only stuff is 'outside computer games', and if children are still free to use the Internet to download anything, how does 'not allowing children to play computer games' help you to make sure children are not exposed to the adult only stuff? Do you mean children are only exposed to the adult only stuff through computer games? Did you say it? Is this kind of silent assumption even valid?)
In addition, playing computer game is a time consuming process, if a child gets addicted to it, that might occupy his too much of his time which is supposed to be used for other things, like studying, spending time with parents,or playing with their friends. (This is a run-on starting from 'if'.) For example, my little brother, who is 11-year old, has been found of computer games when he was only 9 –year old. Before he got in touch with computer games, he usually played mafia (Mafia - if you mean what I think you mean - is a complicated game. Usually it won't be played with children that young.) or cheese (I humbly admit that I know of no such game..=.=) with me or other family members. And every weekends, he used to go out with his classmates for football or tennis. However,things totally changed at the moment he was addicted to computer games ('fond' of computer games doesn't mean he's necessarily 'addicted' to them. These are totally different ideas.). He did not attend our mafia, or go out with classmates at the on weekends any more, he put all his concentration on the computer (This is a run-on starting at the last 'he'.). Every time I pass his bedroom, the only thing I can see is that he is staring at the computer screen. I always hope that one day he feels tried or boring about playing computer games, then he will come back to us and our Maria?. However, so far as I know, there is no a sign of him coming back. Playing computer games,I dare to say, is ruining him,and his life. (How could you say that without evidence that he's not doing as well as before? He might become an award-winning electronic gamer and so rich that you would envy him one day. Don't rely on your moral values to make conclusions. Your little brother is no longer doing what he used to do, yes, but whether this is good or bad depends on whether what he's doing now really makes him better or worse. Your conclusion, on the other hand, depends on your assumption that playing computer games is intrinsically worse than playing Mafia or tennis. You can of couse argue that computer games is time consuming and all that - but which activity isn't, and why playing Mafia must be better than playing computer games? Think about it.)
All in all, I firmly believe that children should not be allowed to play computer games. That is not a good way to give them a healthy environment for growth and not a wise choice for spending their free time.
