Once again, this is a article about education and religion and once again I lose my tongue, for I never figure out why education is always entangled with God...What are the "aims" of education and why the pastor as mentioned in the essay define the aim as one "gigantic evasion". Moreover the numerous
metaphors, though gracefully presented, distract my attention to understand the main purpose of the author.

What is the aim of education? That's a great question worthy to contemplate. The result of education could be classified into two groups. The first one is knowledge which is limited to the different disciplinary. The second group is the route of thinking. There is no doubt that learning how to think has greater value than the former ones. However, the process we learn the learning abilities permeate to the process of learning objects knowledge. Thus, object knowledge couldn't be neglect in the education. Only learn the learning abilities would be too vague and general for a primary student to understand. But it would be much easier for him/her with the help of learning the object knowledge. Also, in this way he/she would get the point of how to exert the learning abilities he/she has.

I really appreciate the simile that “The realm of education may be like a field within a farm: it may cultivate a special crop. But the crop must still serve the purpose of the whole farm.” In my viewpoint, the main purpose of education is to teach pupils the capability to survive in the society and make contributions back to it when they grow up. No need is there to exaggerate the meaning of education. In the mean time, we cannot deny the positive aspects of modern education and claim it as nothing more than one gigantic evasion for it ignores religious education either. We are not aware of whether God will be annoyed about modern education without himself or not. Although the religious faith helps and save the soul in thorny situation, it is possible that Jehovah also will tolerate the modern education and pass preaching task to his missionary. I believe the mighty God has his own way to guide people.
