Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? For future career success, is relate well to other people more important than studying hard at school?

   As the social development more and more depends on information, relationship between people has been rated highly because it's one of the easy and important ways to get information. However, for students who still study at school, as long as I think, future career success relates much tightly with their hard studying rather than relationship.

   To begin with, I want to emphasize the importance of relationship with others, although it's not the whole part for students. With the more complicated and information-depended work people do today than before, teamwork and cooperation seem to be common, which requires good relationship with others. What's more, a phenomenon, widely exists in normal work environment, is that people who get close to the power or have a special relationship with the decision maker will be promoted much easily and quickly than people study hard at school. Thus, there comes a seemingly persuasive concept that relating well to other people more important than studying hard at school. However, even things be firmly taken as truth could be easily out date by the time as well as those relationship and high position. On the contrary, knowledge we acquire at school could never be taken by others.  

  Additionally, for students who still at school, time is so precious for them to spend on study since people can learn how to relate with others in their lifetime but knowledge acquired during school time can hardly be substituted in other time. Life is so short for us to regret, and why not just making every effort on study when we sill at school, other than being disturbed by thoughts of easy success? Young people usually bubble that they can achieve success lightly. In my personal experience, there is no gain without pain. I admit that some people really can drive horses and carts in their relationship with others and then achieve success much easily than others, but those people usually also be good within their own expertise which just easily being neglected by people.

   As all I have mentioned above, although people should pay much attention on their relationship with others during work, the career success never merely depends on that and school study offers people a good background and solid basis for future career success which should be valued more than relationship, at least for student who still study at school.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Teachers should not show their political or social views known in the classroom.

As human is the only kind of animal can carry both thoughts and values in their mind, it's unavoidable for a person to have his or her subjective attitude toward politic or society and diffuse them to the other people. However, teacher is the most special profession in the world that can have powerful impact on the young mind. Thus, an extreme opinion holds that teachers should not show their political or social views known in the classroom. For my point, I'm not that extreme to support such absolute statement, but I do think it's inappropriate for teacher over advertise their political and social view in the classroom without critical discussion.


To begin with, I want to emphasize the importance role that teachers play in the classroom is to teach a whole person. They impart academic knowledge to the students as well as the important value and conscience a student should take as a human and a citizen. In my personal experience, I do like the kind of teacher who has integrity both on teaching and the society. When I was a high school student, I met an important teacher in my life, who teach me of history but hold extremely opinions against the narration of some plots in our high school history book. Actually, I was a little bit annoyed by his pessimistic attitude toward politics, however, his critical spirit made me indulge in a lot of history books out of the class, and eventually I realized some of his point was right.

Additionally, good teachers are who teach students with head and heart. A heartful teacher should create an atmosphere in the classroom that students feel they can think or talk freely as well as critically. Only in such atmosphere, students can well understand that teacher's opinions towards politics and society may not absolutely right and can also be discussed even challenged, which help the young students form a critical spirit toward everything in every aspect, including academic and politics.

As all I have mentioned above, I think teachers should create an atmosphere in classroom free and critical, and only then they can show their own views towards politic and society. What' more , they should make the students be sure that even the teacher's opinion may be wrong and can be criticized.
