In this argument, the author concludes that Green Thumb Gardening Center should expand the variety of vegetable seeds for gardeners this coming spring in order to increase their profits. To reinforce his/her conclusion, the author cites the national survey which reveals that many consumers are dissatisfied with the quality of fresh vegetables available in supermarket. Although appealing at first glance, the conclusions rests on a series of unsupported assumptions which render it unconvincing as it stands.

First of all, the national survey mentioned in the argument is not confidential. No information, such as how many consumers were involved in the survey or the proportion of which responded, were awared of by us. It appears resonable that 100 out of 100,000 respondents show their dissatisfications about the quality of vegetables in supermarket, which is a large number but definitely not the major attitudes. The survey should be statistically reliable. However, we can see little sign of this procedure in the argument, which yealds a unwarranted conclusion.

Secondly, even if the survey provides the correct results, which is unsubstantiated, it does not necessarily follow that the same results still hold in local area. In other words, the author commits the fallacy of False Analogy. A national survey is , of course not representative of local area. It is entirely possible that the local area is famous for its production on high-quality vegetable and most local residents prefer buying vegetables at supermarket to growing their own. What's more, the example on the sells of gardening magazing can not provide sufficient evidence on the willingness of local people on growing their own vegetables. Maybe they are just interested but will not do the job.

In addtion, the author fails to provide enough evidence on the claim of making profits. As we all know, cost-profit relations should be taken into account in order to increase profits. If the cost on preparing and stocking more seeds exceeds the profit that would make by selling the seeds, the whole plan is a complete failure. Before making conclusions, further analysis and investigations on such issues should be conducted.

To sum up, the conclusion that the author reaches in the argument is not well-supported. He/She should provide more evidence on the willingness of growing their own vegetables in the local area. To better evaluate the whole plan, the cost of providing and stocking seeds should be considered and a concrete cost-profit analysis should be made.

1# Narashy In this argument, the author concludes that Green Thumb Gardening Center should expand the variety of vegetable seeds for gardeners this coming spring in order to increase their profits. First of all, the national survey mentioned in the argument is not confidential. No information, such as how many consumers were involved in the survey or the proportion of which responded, were
aware of by us. It appears reasonable that 100 out of 100,000 respondents show their dissatisfactions about the quality of vegetables in supermarket, which is a large number but definitely not the major attitudes. The survey should be statistically reliable. However, we can see little sign of this procedure in the argument, which yields an

整体逻辑比较清晰,只是有些拼写的小错误,不过无妨。

To sum up, the conclusion that the author reaches in the argument is not well-supported. He/She should provide more evidence on the willingness of growing
their own vegetables (by themselves) in the local area. To better evaluate the whole plan, the cost of providing and stocking seeds should be considered and a concrete cost-profit analysis should be made.
