题目是tradition and modernization are incomaptible, one must choose between them.

题目中的imcompatible在词典中有两个解释，一个是无法共存的，另外一个是无法同时拥有的，这样的话后句one must choose between them 的作用就很模糊了，当成无法共存，那么后句可以当成题目的第二层观点，但如果理解成无法同时拥有，那么后句就得理解成前句的解释和补充了...但是这岂不是很多余？请问斑竹怎么理解这个题目？
