There is a public controversy nowadays over the issue of that the government should place few restriction on scientific research and development, which means less restriction makes greater achievement in science. However, in my opinion, I suppose that the government should place restriction on scientific research and development, for the reason that “no rules no radius”
Science always brings benefits to human life. On one hand,it pushes head with the promotion of the society, on the other hand, it provides modern methods to meet different needs of each person. What’s more, it develops the deepen understanding about the world with which we can specify our own orient. But as I was saying, if there’s no limit forthe scientific research, it must be damaged
Admittedly, scientists needs a free atmosphere to do their researches which help them dedicated to that . no restriction may motivate them for further study. In addition, it is the scientist that works as the actual researcher rather than the government , if a government always try to connect the research to the politics, there must be no development. a case to this point is that the former Chinese Football Association, which is a completely failure. A scientist would like to feel respected, which makes him dedicated to the research. However ,since science has strong influence on many fields of our lives , it’s simply not itself now, the utilize of it should be more cautious.
Like many other things, science is a sword with two edges. Just as the pistol is the combination of defensive weapon and murder weapon. So the utilization of these efforts should be restricted by law, ethics or both ofthem. Think about the war between China and Japan, in which the chemical Weapon was used, resulting in the unbelievable destruction,Another controversial scientific advance is the research of gene sequencing ,it is studied to find the defect of the genes, but it would cause theinevitable prejudice on the person who has gene defects, which needs thegovernment’s rules of avoiding leaking the key information. Thus appropriate supervision and restriction placed by government may comply with the public opinion rather than impede the progress of science.
Furthermore, another advantage of the scientific research under government’s restrictions their orient of the scientific research is always along with the aims of the society development, so that the scientist can receive helps from all of the society such as the funds from sponsors to support their work. This means that the government play a role of global coordination in scientific research and development.
To draw a conclusion, it’s a good way to reduce limits on scientific research and development. so that scientist can focus on their work, but there’s no absolute free, only proper restriction that makes great scientific achievements
