Should government officials rely on their own judgment or unquestioningly carrying out the will of the people whom they serve? In my opinion I believe that both factors should be associated together.
The government official should have their own judgment, because, sometimes, not all political decisions can cater for all civilians’ need. In terms of ecological problems, some big companies’ managers due to pursue higher profit and cheaper natural resources, may flight against to set up the environmental lows and the increase of charging tax from environmental issues, while most of citizen in urban tend to support such lows on the ground that they should not develop the economy at the expense of the ecosystem and their rights to enjoy fresh air and comfortable pace of live should not be deprived. In this case, provide that government official unquestioningly carry out the will of the people whom they serve, the development of society will, unfortunately, stop, for they can not decide whose will they should obey; therefore, the government official would be well-advised to ray on their judgment.
If the government officials lack their own judgment, the question voice of their capacity and authority will ensue. Civilians vote the government which enables them to a better life rather than a hesitant one. The government officials should utilize their authority to guide the public. Their decisions and judgments usually play a key role in the development of the country, for they can fulfill the potential of the national resources and facilities; therefore, making their own judgment decisively will consolidate their status among the public.
On the other hand, relying on their judgment does not mean that the government official left their people’s will alone. Since people are a main factor that constitutes our country, their will is an indispensable part to influence the government officials’ judgments, otherwise, without the public’s voice their judgments can not benefit the public. Even more, if the government fails to deal with the different opinion among the public, tension and conflict might be brought about to the society. Provide that the government official draw on the public’s will, their decisions and judgments will be the best interest of the public and can lead a welcome atmosphere of society. The harmony keeps society safe and stable while clashes make country unavailable; therefore, the public will can not be neglect.
To sum up, neither only relaying on the government official judgments nor merely carrying out the will of the people whom they serve can contribute the development of society. The two factors must be associated that the government can gain the best results and fulfill a great achievement.
