The statement asserts that we can get the society's idea just by observe the appearance and behavior of the people, for people's dress and act reveals their internal idea. However, in my view, we need to know more about the life style beside people's appearance and action if we want to judge a society.

Admittedly, people's appearance and action will reflect some aspects about society. As we know, humans are social animals, and they like to follow the tides, and one people’s action will reflect his condition. If we can grasp the mainstream of the tides and find the spirit condition of most of the people, then we can judge the people's attitude about the society. For example, in the last people like to wear furry clothes, and the rich lookdown the poor ones, we know that, the society is pursue the material life, and most people's spirit not so noble. While know, most people refuse the furry clothes and pursue the health life, and learn to respect others no matter he is poor or rich, so from these we can know that the society is now effort to be more equal, and people are live better.

However, to understand the society's internal idea people need to observe most people's life style. In the street people may do better to keep their status, while their life style can reveal their real idea. And the life custom will reflect their real idea about the society and other people. For example, a person maybe act as a noble gentleman, yet, in his home he abuse his cat and dog, then we can't believe he can equally treat other people if their are no rules to restrict him. So this just as one great man has said that "your eye may cheat you if you blindly believe it". If every poor one and uneducated people know to protect and save resource, then the whole society will developing in a healthy direction and the future will be better. The small things will reveal more, as one Chinese proverb "can not do well the small things, how can you manage a big country".

Furthermore, from the various organizations and their aims can help us to understand society's ideas. As we know, many organizations are fund by the governments, and many others are fund by the rich men, these two kinds are the most important force that decides the direction of the future development of the society. And from their policies and combine with the appearance and actions of general people, we can deduce the real ideas of the whole society. For example, know most organizations are aim at protect environment, help the poor ones, help to protect the weak cultures and help to promote the development of the science and technology to improve the life level of all humans. From this we can conclude that the society is now improved in the direction that enhance the quality of life for all humans, and sustainable developing, and build a harmony world.

In sum, we must judge a society not by the appearance and actions of the people, this will ignore many real things that hidden under the surface. Moreover, we must observe the whole society carefully to find the internal ideas, from the life styles of ordinary people and the aims of the various organizations is a better method.
