Everyone is longing for success in his/her life. To aim at this, some people are more interested in getteing help from those influential people like their employers who are acquainted with their strengths and accomplishments. Whether this is necessary for one to obtain success, after a careful of deep thinking, I'd like to show some doubts based on the following arguments.

It is true that if one's boss is well-informed about his or her advantages and accomplishment, the possibility of success would be improved since the boss might give his/her more chances to practice their working skills and achieve some remarkable things in their career.  

However, when one take into a deep thinking, he may find there are two obvious defects in the argument.

The first one concerns the definition of success. does it must be a well-known achievement ? Or does it must be recognized before one's death? If it's not true, I can illustrate that there are a large number of counterexamples who are also successful but get little from their bosses or other influential people. Many of ordinary people, for example, doesn't have special gift to accomplish something fantastic for society which can make their names popular. They just do ordinary works without help from a influential employer. But in fact, they successfully bring out their children and make an important contribution to society from their work. Can you deny that this is not a kind of success? In another case, there are countless people in the field of art and science who have made great contribution but could not be recognized as their works are difficult for people at that time to accept. Van Gogh, for instance, the famous Holland painter just made his honest effort before he died without any fame. But after his paintings were highly appreciated when he died, no one would doubt that his art career was a failure.

Secondly, there are several factors that determine one's success in life. In fact, even if one can not be appreciated by his/her boss or any other influential people, he/she can still be successful. For example,  if people have enough material bases and adequate ability, they can just be their own boss. As far as I known, many of my university students, after several years' work experiences in a company,  begin to start up their own company. In this way, all chances are just controlled in their hands. Therefore it is more likely for them to make a great fortune in a short time.  Just as one old saying goes: one's destiny is just controlled by himself.

In sum, although it will make a good chance when one's potential can be well acquainted by influential people, people should take more attention to their personal effort for success in life.

When I was a freshman, my major-chemistry was chosen according to the will of my parents. As time goes by, however, I gradually figured out that, in fact, chemistry was not my favorite subject and I was not good at doing works in a chemical lab. Instead, math became strongly fascinated me and I spent more time on thinking about difficult mathematical problems. Finally I just determined to change my major from chemistry to math when I went on my graduate study. Now so much  have I benefited from leading a both independent and pleasant academic life, due to this choice, that I will strongly agree with that children should make their own choice about future.

It is true that students may enjoy some advantages if their parents help determine their direction of life. Parents are always considering about what is best for their children' development and students have benefited from it a lot since they are born. Most delicious food are offered to children and best educational resources are selected for them. Also parents have all kinds of experiences which can provide their kids with most valuable guidance for the problems they confront with.

Nevertheless, all of these bright side would not outweigh the advantages of children's own choice.

Firstly, it is children who really know what kind of future they want to strike for. And only if one's life is led according to his/her own interest, it will make sense that his/her future is independent and meaningful. Take Weierstrass, who is one of the most famous  German mathematicians, for example. Weierstrass was gifted and interested in math since he was a child. But his father thought doing
Bussiness was best for his kid and then forced little Weierstrass to work on a business degree. This was a terrible thing for Weierstrass which caused him to study math against his father's will for nearly 15 years until he was finally admitted as a math professor in Bonn University.  How unreasonable it is that children could not do what they'd like to do just because their parents' will!

Secondly, it is only through children's own choice about future that they can grow up into true adults who can lead their own life and explore the meaning of their lifetime. Any wise choice made by parents is just not children's own choice. It means noting to their independent life. To let children make choice of their own, in turn, will allow them to consider their own life independently. In the process of considering their own choices seriously, they can learn much about how to deal with their own life. If one want to be an actor, for instance, he can define the context of his life by himself, take the responsibility of this choice no matter the result will turn out to be good or bad, and experience the sweetness of success or hardship of failure. All of these things are  meaningful because they are just his real and independent life which started with his own choice.

In sum, I think a reasonable mom or dad would tell his/her kid in this way: it is about your own life; you can ask for suggestions from me but the final decision is made by your own independent thoughtful judgement.

Nowadays we are surrounded by all kinds of movies: comedy movies, carton movies, action movies, documentary movies and so on. What kind of movie is worthwhile to us? From my point of view, I think it is too extreme for me to agree with the point that it is only worth watching movies that can teach us something about real life, in the light of following aspects.

To begin with, it is not only about real life that deserves us to learn from watching movies. Life is so colorful and complex that there are far more aspects about life, like ideal life, for us to learn. As you know, cartoon movies are always far away from the realistic life. But children have both enjoyed and learned much from watching them. Some cartoon movies' topics are just about how we should behave in an ideal life rather than a real life. Real life, sometimes, appears to be so dark that it is not suitable for our next generation to learn. As a matter of fact, adults, sometimes, are more likely to watch some movies about ideal life which give them hope and courage to struggle for a better life.  

On the other hand, people can get much fun and relax daily fatigue and pressure from work and study by watching some comedy movies, which is also beneficial  for both of their physical and mental health.  Comedy movies often appear to be so funny and ridiculously far from real life that help people forgetting some frustrating things in their life and be able to refresh  energy to prepare for work in next day. Take my father, who often face a great pressure from daily work, as an example. Whenever he go back home on weekends, my father will regularly like to get some fun from watching latest comedy movies. And now he has been a super fan of Jim Carrey.  

To sum up, although we can learn much about real life from watching some kind of serious movies, it is just one side of goodness of movies. The world is so colorful, and movies are also colorful. Why shouldn't we enjoy all the benefits that wonderful movies bring to us.

Art and music are always so highly refined that there is only a small group of professional artists who are interested in such artistic places like museum and musical auditorium. In contrast, people have stronger requirement to get accesses to recreational facilities. For example, there are many cities which lie at the dry areas. So the people living there just have the high demand to have plenty of swimming pools. With the sufficiently large and numerous playground, people will have the better chance to keep their fitness.  Therefore, it is no doubt that there will be more people who support the construction of more recreational facilities.

In another aspect, it is more useful to invest in recreational facilities than artistic buildings. As a matter of fact, there are not so many people who have highly refined artistic taste and interest to come into such place. Even those who are interested in art and music, at most, go to art museum or musical performance one time a month, for there are not so much new things to view and they don't have too much money to pay for tickets.  To the opposite,  the situation of recreational facilities is far more excellent. As you know, any people have the need to take physical exercises in daily life. And they don't have to pay so much. For example, running at the play ground has become an indispensable activity in my daily life. I can use it so frequently but costs nothing.


In the light of discussion above, we may safely arrive at the conclusion that the advantages of constructing recreational facilities are far outweighs the advantages of investing in artistic buildings. People are always confused when deciding what type of job to occupy. Some appreciating the job with low paying salary and being secure, argue that they can lead a stable and happy life and avoid a great deal of pressure from worring about losing it. Others, who'd rather take risk of losing it, may say that they can get far more than just high salary from doing challenging jobs. From my point of view, the second type is better, in light of the following arguments.

The first advantage of doing this type of job is obvious because  you can become financially sufficient. It is well-known that payment is just one of most crucial factors when people decide what type of job to take, for money always means a lot for people's life. With sufficient incomes, people can not only solve all kinds of basic existence problems like food, housing, clothes, but also improve their living-conditions in terms of education, entertainment, as well as traveling. In fact, many Chinese youngsters have been worried a lot about the increasing housing prices since they can not afford it using their low incomes. From their perspectives, it is more desirable to some highly-paid jobs aiming at solving this urgent problems.

Secondly, those jobs which are highly paid but easy to lose can stimulate workers' motivations and promote their working ability and efficiency. As you know, those worrying a lot about losing their highly paid jobs, are more likely to take their responsibilities very carefully and try their best to finish their tasks well. Take my father's experience for example. When the company that my father work at is short of efficient system of disciplines which threaten its employees' unemployment, the workers don't take serious about their jobs and they always get late to work and leave back home earlier. But when the rules are strictly set up and taken into effect, the company's working efficiency is enhanced greatly.

In another aspect, even though people get fired from several types of highly-paid jobs, they have been harvested a lot of experiences and various abilities. With the help of these experiences and capacities, they are more likely to take on other kind of demanding jobs. For instance, many famous movie stars who can make suchremarkable achievements in their jobs, badly attribute their success to all kinds of realistic experiences from different kind of jobs, like advertising, singing, funny TV shows and so on.

To sum up, every sword has its two edges. And it is no doubts that those highly-paid jobs  which are easy to lose make people exposed to great pressure physically and psychologically. But so much benefits from it people can enjoy that I would strongly agree with that it is advisable for people to occupy.

Nowadays sports have become one of the most important aspects in people's life. People can keep their physical health, get fun in the process of joining in a sports, and become well touched with others. In fact, sports have brought far more benefits for us. And I will strongly agree with that sports teach people lessons about life in the following aspects.

At first, sports teaches us the spirit of teamwork and cooperation which is indispensable for our journey of the whole life. In a football court, 11 team members must take their  proper roles in the whole group's fighting. In order to win the game, you must pass the football frequently to your team members. Sometimes you need your partners' help to stop the opponent team members' attack. So only through the perfect cooperations of the whole team members, you can win a game. In fact, it's impossible for one to kick a football by himself all the time towards the opposite goal.  

Secondly, sports tells us a truth about life: no pain, no gain. In order to get an remarkable achievement in your lifetime, you have to work hard for a long time. For example, Lang ping, a famous volleyball player who has led Chinese national team to win the golden prize of Olympic Games more than 5 times, just mainly attribute her success to the constant hard work.
