(09.02.21 NA) Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Newspapers and magazines are the best ways to learn about a foreign country？

There is no denying the fact that newspapers and magazines have been our essential sources of getting information around world. But what is a debate is whether they are the best ways to learn about a foreign country. Some people hold the opinion that they are the best way because it is easy to get them, while others argue that the information in them are always not exactly and all-round. From my perspective, I prefer the later opinion due to the following reasons.

First and foremost, sometimes messages that newspapers and magazines show us are not exactly. For they need to report things as quickly as they can, they just make mistakes more or less, especially the newspaper. For instance, once there was a air crash happened in a foreign country, a newspaper in our country just reported that the fist aid there was not on time which made us think the country`s ability of dealing with the emergency was weak. However, the fact is they arrived as early as they could and did everything perfect. As the reporter need to report the news first, he just did no detailed research and finally made people have the passive opinion on the country`s rescue ability.

Additionally, the information is always limited which means we cannot get to know a country from every angle. It is critical for us to learn about a country in every angle which can protect us misunderstanding it. As contrast, television can always provide almost every aspects of a country such as geology, culture and such a sort of things. According to the TV drama program such as friends and the big bang theory, we can get the knowledge of people lifestyles. The discovery can let us know the information of geology of the landscape in a vivid way which newspapers and magazines cannot compete with.

    However, despite these drawbacks of newspapers and magazines, they also make us have an easy access to see the world. Every morning, we just need to buy a piece of newspaper before going to work, read them on the way of going to firm such as in subways and buses and we can know the things happened all around the world. Not only do they save our time, but also provide a way to catch the current of the world.

Although newspapers and magazines provide us some convenience, disadvantages they bring to us cannot be ignored. They cannot provide the information exactly and all-round which let us misunderstand a foreign country. In conclusion, they are not the best ways for us to learn about a foreign country.

With the development of modern society, people are no longer need to work whole day to earn their living expending. They can choose having a vacation instead of doing jobs. However, there is a debate that whether sacrifices part of our salary to get more vacation time. From my perspective, it is wise to have a job with more vacation time but a low salary.

To begin with, it will be possible for workers to spend more time with their family which is essential for each person. The busy work always lets them seldom stay with their family. They always go out early and come back late that their children can hardly see them which will make their relationship not as close as before. However, with more vacation time, people can having amazing time with their family such as eating together and so forth. Children can get closer with their parents which is beneficial for the relationship of a family and it also makes people feel worthy to having vacation instead of making money.

Additionally, having vacation is also beneficial for people to relax themselves and have healthier conditions not only in physics but also in psychology. They can do some hiking in mountains. Because of the fierce competition and strong desire for promotion, people in the firm always sacrifice their time of eating and doing exercise to do their endless job which is so harmful to their health and also gain the stress from work. Nevertheless, when they have a vacation they can put everything of their jobs out of their mind and just enjoy their happy time such as sharing the sunshine on the beach with their family, go to the places where they want to visit but have no chance before. After all, we have to admit that to be healthy are more meaningful than earning money.

However, it cannot be denied that with more moneys, people can do more meaningful things and enjoy high quality of lives. They can live in the houses with larger space, buy more luxury objects which make people in the street always pay attention to them. Money can also bring us convenience such as buying a car to go to work instead of getting the crowded bus.

Although more salary can let us live more comfortable with more pleasure, we cannot ignore the crucial advantages which vacation brings to us. They bring the crucial parts of people`s lives to us. Money is indispensable but not the most important.
