There is a growing public concern that the authorities should put down (down可去掉) most of their consideration onto solving the problems before their eyes, not those anticipated problems of the future. I agree that some immediate problems do need governmental concern for they are critical to the everyday life of us citizens. At the same time, however, this doesn’t mean that those anticipated problems of the future are of no importance and need no foci.
Beyond all doubt, those emergent problems, especially social problems and political problems like criminals, drug abuse and wars, are in need of full considerations of the government and the authorities should solve them immediately without any hesitance. One of the major functions of our government is to keep our living circumstance quiet and peaceful. Thus those social or political problems as mentioned before should be put sufficient focus on.
But only focusing on the current problems is far from enough. For there’re(正式的文章中应该避免出现缩写) all kinds of problems are in need of solution, such as economical problems and the social development problems(这两个problems还是太笼统,等于没有such as,呵呵), which might have something to do with some certain future details. In such cases, the government’s close attention to the anticipated problems of the future becomes equally significant with that to current ones, if not more important. Also, some future problems are intertwined closely with immediate ones, which make it impossible to only pay attention to current situations while neglect all the future ones, for sometimes the latter is the prerequisite of the former.
Firstly, from the aspect of such problems as in the fields of economy and social development, we can see that in some cases future problems are even more significant than immediate ones to our process of making decisions to those critical choices. For example, if a multinational corporation is considering opening up new commercial regions somewhere, doubtlessly they will think over the potential market over there, not the market there at the time. It is the same with the social development problems including the constructions of the cities such as where to build an overpass, or the necessity of establishing a large scale of greenland or broadening a road. All these instances suggest that sometimes it is the future problems not the current ones that may need to be put in the first place of considering.
Secondly, there’re also situations that involve both problems coming into being presently and anticipated of the future, such as the future environmental problems arise from today’s industrial ones. Since the industrial revolution, people have been polluting this planet fiercely for quite a long time, which lead to a solemn contradiction between holding the progress of the technology and keeping alive the environment in which we live. There’s another example, that is, the waste and the maintaining of the natural resources. We all know that the natural resources on this planet is limited, and one day those resources like petroleum, natural gas and coal will die out, however, people haven’t found any inexhaustible substitution that have similar effect as those mentioned before while at the same time is not that pollutive. Thus when we consider using these resources, we should put the current and future problems together, and learn not to waste any of it.
In conclusion, both immediate problems and the anticipated problems of the future are equally important to us. They have different emphases and that’s the reason why in some cases current problems are considered more while in other cases it’s the opposite. Thus we should analyze the situation according to its specific circumstance.(最后这句有点庸俗了,呵呵。
