1# 一定要成功 呵呵，我的一个好朋友去年去了那里，的确挺偏僻的，也不繁华，听她说并不怎么好，都有点后悔走了，但是如果楼主想申，条件还好，成功的可能性很大。而且和留学基金委有合作项目，以后回国也挺容易的。个人建议能支付比较繁华的大城市还是不要去那里了，比如UIC。那里中国人挺多的。

UNMC is a pretty good one with good reputation. US news always underestimate these public Us in midwest as they do not pay to them. So if it is ranked 29, you can consider it around 25 or so. Omaha is considered one of the top 10 best city for family, with both safty, nice scene and good education. Also, people there have no accent, yes, almost standard American English. You know what, besides those famous rich town around US, Nebraska has 2 cities in the list.

There are also several big pharm companies at Omaha as it is kind of the middle of US. I know several Chinese guys working in those companies, and some of them earn millions of $ as salary and millions of stock profit. But they have worked for a long time. Nowadays, no place is easy to find a job, including Pharm companies, not like 5 or 10 years before.

If you like a city with fairly nice life with safty and nice people around, then go to UNMC.

If you want to KTV, go out for Chinese food, shopping at the outlets, and hang out with a number of Chinese youths playing everyday, you should go to the coasts.

I personally think Omaha is kind of among the dream cities. For common job offers, I will choose Omaha maybe rather than CA as the property price is also low at Omaha. If I earn more than 100,000 per year, I might choose CA or Miami, but still can hardly afford those equal level million houses.

You know, Buffett choose to live in Omaha. I think the richest guy in the world has a better sight of what a nice living style is than most of us.
