Thank you for applying to the Graduate Program in Statistics at the
University of Florida.  I regret to inform you that you will not be
admitted for the Fall 2011 term.  The pool of applicants was
exceptionally strong this year and we were forced to deny many worthy
applicants.

However, we think you have a strong academic record, and we would like
to encourage you to apply to the relatively new MS and PhD Programs in
Biostatistics at University of Florida. The Department of Biostatistics
was established in 2010, and several internationally known
biostatisticians are expected to join the existing 12 faculty members in
Fall 2011.  The MS program in Biostatistics is self funded with no
financial aid. Tuition for the two-year program is approximately $21,000
per year, and the expected living expenses are about $15,000 per year.
We plan to admit up to 10 students into the MS program this year.

I applied for biostat at the beginning and has just been offered funding. I know that PhD program has fundings there. I am sure that not all students are suggested to contact depart. of biostat. I have seen several. So it is worth to try if you are still interested in UF.
