ken0405,老兄受累了,这里还有一篇,满心谢意,无言以表啊……
238. "Conformity almost always leads to a deadening of individual creativity and energy."
Creativity seems to very important to the current society, however, people are likely lack of such ability. Such phenomena’ taking place, according to some one’s view, is due to the conformity. The vigorous, heated discussion has never unique to the sociologists but significantly intrigued the public. Admittedly, conformity does have some negative effect on the innovation, but hardly can one arbitrarily say that conformity almost always leads to a deadening of individual creativity and energy. I have the compelling reasons warrant that such conclusion is not convincing but confusing.
“Conformity have bad effect on the creativity” this assertion is absolutely valid. Conformity does not allow people to think mush but just follow the principles or the mold. In a machinelike world, in which people do all that have been planed, how can one have the creativity? In the violent contrast, in the society where is free of thinking and persuade its citizens to do as their own way, the result will be doomed that the society is filled with new ideas and the genius glare. In the period of Renaissance,in both the realms of art and academic, the creativities can be seen everywhere. Da Vinci used the new skill to finish the great painting entitled Mona Lisa; Copernicus even more originally claim that the earth runs around the sun.
However, it seem to be a little bit arbitrary to say that conformity almost always leads to a deadening of individual creativity and energy, because the creativity is based on the profound knowledge that prevailing accept currently. As is known, the famous in science and other filed are all the professors in existed field then they created their new theory and technology. To study the current curriculum in the universities is a kind of conformity, but without such activity, hardly can one gain the ability of creativity. The innovation is in some sense based on the existed know-how. Einstein creates the theory of relativity, but this creation is after he found the classical physics cannot explain the phenomena. In other words, he had study the Newton’s theory in a great depth.
Virtually, the breakthrough today will become the conformity tomorrow, the process is “conformity-breakthrough-conformity” and the circle will certainly go on and on. The two elements are just like the two kinds of rings in a long chain, that without one the whole chain cannot exist.
In sum, the assertion that conformity almost always leads to a deadening of individual creativity and energy is a little bit arbitrary, even the conformity does has some bad effect on the innovation. Any one of the two rings cannot exist all by itself, instead, they depend on each other |
