1# lixincynthia Several of my academic advises told me they don't know ZJU but know SDU in China, I really have no idea about that... Thus, as your school is not T/P, it does not matter so much that you are not a top school graduate, though it still matters a little bit.
Personally speaking, Columbia and Cornell are not as strong in their STAT program, but if you are going back in years and in need of a good fame, hey are OK. Moreover, they have decent location.
If you are interested in academic living, then OSU PhD is a good choice, but AVOID its MS. Because this is a state founded public school, many other schools like this, including OSU, own strong PhD program for good reputation and publication, but their ugrad are so so, and their MS programs are just held for money--most of the times to feed their high costly PhD programs.
I think Cornell can be a good choice, because it's full of Asian people in the program you mentioned, though still hard for you because I have not seen so many highlights in your intro.
UMN is very hard, even just MS. This is what I have seen, because UMN does not see you a MS student, MN has rare opportunity than other schools located in NY or CA, thus most of the times they think you are coming for academics. This might be a good choice as well, but if you set it "Baodi", I bet you lose.
About other schools, I have not investigated much, though, I know something, I won't say so much.
Hope you a decent AD/Offer |
