Competition is ultimately more beneficial than detrimental to society.

Competition, a spirit which is ultimately beneficial rather than detrimental to society, is a growing concern among populace in this epoch of rapid and social and technological change leading to increasing life complexity and psychological displacement. A scrutiny of this issue, it is natural that competition is still beneficial to society in that high technology conduces to compete in every field of the whole world.
Most conspicuous, the society must develop its economy and improve the well-being of the mass in terms of atmosphere of competition. As the deputy of department of E.E. (electrical and electronics) in Massachusetts Institute of Technology once said (with slight adjustment of mine), "With sustained development of society, especially computer science and communication dispose, more enterprise and more corporation employ a culture and atmosphere of competition other than cooperation which play a crucial and vital role in any enterprise. Based on cooperation in the staff of a corporation, competition comes to being gradually just because of the corporations' amelioration. Without competitive spirit, any one will lose his/her position and might be replaced by others, so does the corporation and enterprise, whether it is small or large.  "Moreover, motley assortment of cooperation achieve marvelous and miraculous success, in that competition other than cooperation is accentuated among employees. So competitive spirit is very consequential to individual, corporation, society and so on.
Furthermore, the fact competition is very beneficial to society in this rapid era of high technology does not mean that competition is key whereas we can discard the cooperation, which is virtually crucial to individuals, enterprises, and society as well. Not only does competitive atmosphere lead to success of the whole society, but it can also be detrimental to society when it is excessively emphasizes .As reported in FORTUNE,  a famous story at HYUNDAI AUTO CORP, which is a well-known auto company of SOUTH KOREA, involved vice president Eung Soo Kim and a deputy named A. Fujimorii. When the company, which accentuates cooperation through cultivating the teem spirit, is fraught with motley collection of problems such as nonprofit and absence of the staff, consultation about these problems is given by Eung Soo Kim and A. Fujimori, who alter the cooperative corporation spirit to compound atmosphere of cooperation and competition. Then, it is manifest that there is a big coup.
Admittedly, it is very important that we can amalgamate both spirits when we intend to gain achievements. Especially, that excessively pay attention to only one of competition and cooperation hardly lead a company to make good winning. Finally, competition and cooperation is also crucial to students in all level of schools, even it is more obvious than in the society.
To summarize, we should treat competition and cooperation equally without reserve, and cultivate ourselves group spirit and competitive sense before enter the society. Without competition, society will become a dull and tedious group; excessively compete with others will enervate the ever-good relationship.

Without competition, without human beings.
From the time when a caveman conked an animal for foods to survive , human beings has been developed the ability to compete. Then Adam Smith --an economist asserted that free competition is the perpetual natural  law and will propel people to participate in economic activities which would ultimately prompt the happiness of individuals and the harmony of society .Till now , competition still play an indispensable role in every area of society.
To begin with, it is no doubt that a thriving economy depends on a freely competitive business environment which ensures that consumers obtain high-quality goods and services at low prices .As we know the ultimate purpose of the company it to obtain the maximum profit , therefore in order to attract more consumers and improve the marker shares , the company not only cuts down the price but also supplies all kinds of service including after sales as well as before sales to ensure taking advantage over others. So we , consumers , do benefit a lot from the heated and tense competition among  companies. Now ,the price of computer reduces step by step so as to almost all of ordinary families can afford it , which in a sense should be attributed to the competition among the computer companies such IBM, Apple company , Intel and so on. This illustrates the point that our society level of reasonable price and satisfying service is at a stage in which there simply be competition in order for us to benefit the most.
Besides , beside economic area , other society area such as policy ,sport , education can not flourish but perish without competition. As candidates  , they have to compete in presidential election .In sports in Olympic games even a subtle distinction would lead the rivals to  be eliminated . As students, myself included , we have compete in the GRE test with thousands of students all around the world. In fact , every day we are submerged in a sea of hyper-competition.
Simply put , without competition ,there would undoubtedly be no progress , what is more , in economic area  the market would be deteriorated into monopoly controlled by a certain company which may  drive up prices.
Admittedly , in the process of competition , there will unavoidably be dishonesty ,and under table dealing , however all of which is not the essence of competition and can be validly controlled if only we make out consummate laws.
In sum , competition ,serving as the human natural , propels us to progress .Without it , we will be bogged in the mire of halt of advance.
