我觉着大家的执著很值得我敬佩，但是执著的有点crazy的感觉let me confused
everyone of you all are working hard for gre and toefl,  of coz, if you wanna get high score , you must spend time and energy to prepare for this. But life is not just these two test , right? you should feel more and learn more other things. test is just a scenario of your whole life.

  I do not wanna to say you are wrong, everyone has his or her own idea about how to deal with test and going abroad,  I just wanna to say if one day you really go abroad and live in another country long time, you will know my feeling when I read what you guys said here.

Crazyca, I agree with your decision : immigrate here and study for Ph.D degree. coz if you come here these two years, you will have little chance to find a job, then study will be a better chioce for you, and if you get gre and toefl test in China and get a university's offer,  you wont feel too lost after you come Canada. I feel that you live a good life in China from your article, one suggestion is that you should know clearly Canada is not a place where you can become rich :P  Here is a good place for your son to grow up since no pressure. But you and your wife maybe face a very different environment . So expect spend too much on ur test, take some time to know  Canada scoiety more

happyqiqi, seems that you are in Canada now. Would you please introduce something about your GRE and TOEFL test and way to Canada, if you don't mind?
Personnally, I am not a man who is eager to be a rich. In fact, I prefer enjoying life. Taking GRE and TOEFL test is because I like English and need to use English in Canada.
Happyqiqi, do you have any suggestion to my studying for a doctorial degree in Canada? My major was Chemical Equipment and Machinery for bechalor and Chemical Process Machinery for master. After having Canadian doctorial degree, I hope to have two choices: one is trying to stay at university in Canada, the other is trying to return to China. Let me know your personal opinion.
My life in China is not very good, I think. I came to Shanghai on March, 2002. The first year I worked for a Japan company. The payment is low, only 4000 RMB, and the working time is too long, more than 14 hours everyday. From April 1, 2003 to now, I worked for my present company. My second company in Shanghai. It is a Britain company, not too bad. But my direct supervisor don't want me from the beginning. He asked me to leave. So I will have to lose the job soon. No matter what difficulties I meet, I hope I won't lose my faith on myself and hope for future. I hope that my son will do as well as me when he meets such situation.
So GRE and TOEFL are only a test and a part of my life. But at present, it is important to me. I hope I will try my best for this period. Because I will have others to do later. Happyqiqi, if you are in Canada, I hope to meet you face to face in Canada someday. Come on, everybody, try our best for what we want from life.

Ok , if that, maybe coming to Canada will be a better choice for you, here you can live a quiet life, I do not wanna discourage you , you know. But to be a professor here is not so easy, I think if you can get a top university's offer , maybe you have chance.

Another suggestion, you still have nearlly one year to take the test, I feel you r a little excited about that, just calm down:) you need more patient in the future when you prepare for that. Leave some energy for next year.

To be honest, going to Canada is my only choice now. cuase I don't get along well with my supervisor at office. So I have to quit my second job in Shanghai soon. I don't know what is right for me. Studying English at home for GRE and TOEFL or trying to find the third job in Shanghai for the next 6 months before going to Canada? I think there is no easy thing in life, no matter in Canada or Shanghai. I am crazy about English. I enjoy learning English.
What do you do in Canada for a life,happyqiqi? I hope you feel happy there.

谢谢你还记得我.我还在忙于准备考试,但是不是G/T.所以和你在这个方面可以交流的不多.但是我是天天来看你的.
大家在职看来都不容易.你的想法我们能够理解.但是我认为光为了G/T而辞职是不可取的.鉴于你的实际情况,我觉得可以考完T后再找个工作好了.其实每个人都是有责任的,所以不象学生那般可以不顾一切了.

辞职不只是因为寄托，还为了准备学好英语去加拿大。2004年1月12日要到上海徐家汇上GRE培训班。之前要想背完单词，至少要三遍。2004年2月上完培训班，要准备2004年5月1日前考完GRE作文，大概需要2个月。2004年6月12日考GRE，考完后复习2个月考2004年8月份TOEFL。考完托福准备不到1个月需要到加拿大去。去加拿大必须在2004年9月28日前，因为体检日为2003年9月28日。恐怕1年内没有机会再找工作了。实际上，加拿大的情况不好。但是不去加拿大不行。从3年前开始申请，现在有了结果。如果放弃，自己不会心敢情愿。前2次的同学聚会，感触很深。人生的道路不会平坦。会有很多起伏。一步走错，就没有办法挽回。同学再次相聚，心里不免会相互比较。想象，自己不比别人差，境遇不好了，自己都没脸面，的确责任重大。辞职并不是不顾一切，只是全力以赴做自己认为值得做，应该做的事情。因为在上海1年半做了一些积蓄，所以可以有经济裕度作出这个选择。这是在职的一丁点优势。相信自己，认真对待生活。认真寄托。哈哈。
