[B]"Scholars and researchers should not be concerned with whether their work makes a contribution to the larger society. It is more important that they pursue their individual interests,however unusual or idiosyncratic those interests may seem"[/B]

positon: researchers should pay more attention to the fields which  are concerned with the humans' lives to make more contribution to the larger society .
1.the development of the society is based on the millions and thousands of ancestors contributions.
2.as scholars or researchers,they have more duties to contribute their intelligence to bring benefits to the society
3.admittedly, some excellent achievement of the humans is flashed by accident.so we can not criticize the idiosyncratic ideas of our scholars and researchers as well.
conclusion:the society should respect the idiosyncratic thoughts of the scholars,but it can not be their only intention.


Although the speaker contends that as  scholars or researchers,it is more important for them to pursue their even unusual or idiosyncratic interests rather than try to contribute to the larger society,i prefer the idea that only the contribution to the society could be their sole intention when they have their research or study.i will analyze my point inthe following paragraphs.

No one can defy the fact that the development of the society is based on millions and thousands of ancestors' contributions.For instance,only after the ancestors' invention of powder could today's people sending our astronauts into the sky. only the contribution of Internet makes  the world a small connectted village. As soon as realized this,people can also fully understand the importance of the individuals' contribution to the society.  It is obviously the motive of the society's improvement .

As the society's essence,scholars or researchers must have more duties to contribute their intelligence to bring benefits to the society.They have receieved more education than other society members,and at the same time,the society  also have paid more money,provide more  opportunities for  them to turn their knowledge into the whole human's wealth.In a word,the society put more hopes onto these excellent people,and they also have more influence to the whole society's development.they must do what they should do to contribute their knowledge to the other people.
   
But,Admittedly,people must confess that some excellent achievements of the humans were flashed by accident.many famous scientists have given us such examples.So, no one can criticize the idiosyncratic ideas of the scholars and researchers as well.  Maybe it is just the source of excellent new milestones of the humanbeing's history.But ,for the researchers and scholars,it could never be their only intention for their study,or even a mean to achieve scientific honors.

In sum,I assert that the society should respect the idiosyncratic thoughts of the scholars,but the most important thing for scholars and researchers is to make their work more useful to the society.  


实在撑不到400了，看大家都写得那么好，心里真着急
主要困难好象是讲不出道理，翻来覆去就那么几个词，几句话，自己看了也觉得别扭
难点的单词都不会拼。而且写了后对照提纲觉得和别人的想法不太一样啊，为什么我想不到呢？
请大家批判，促使我提高，谢谢！

文中那个I ，你居然用的是小写，如此藐视考试，考官会生气的哦。
其实你说的道理还是很说的通的，但是论证得太少了。你每段讲到的那些话都还可以从细节里扩展出去。
或者你多问几个问题，自己想想如果你被问到，如何回答。学者们进行学术研究到底是出于社会责任心还是个人兴趣？哪个更能激励他们做出真正的贡献？你如何定义真正的贡献？马上可以投入生产，还是仅仅是学术上的理论突破？那些奇思怪想在历史上地位如何？等等。

字数太少是表面问题，关键是你脑子里"存货"不多，对这些问题没有思考过，没话可说. 解决办法，一是多参与大家的讨论，二是多看书多思考。建议你看看精华区的范文，分析他们是怎么说理的。还有这篇文章里讲的思路，非常值得学习。
