This topic is for all of you who are now studying in Hong Kong to talk about everything about studying here. You can share your feeling with us,offer your advise to the newcomer or anything you just feel like talking about study.
Please do not talk about anything else as this is for the mainland students who's preparing for studying in HK.

My experience 1:
I don't know how you feel about studying in HK.Maybe I'm wrong caz I had just arrived in HK for a week. But before I came here, many classmates and friends in the mainland have said to me that it was very easy to study in HK's universities and HK's students are not working hard at all.
Well,in fact,it's not the case at all.
First,I can hardly follow the professors.Wow,there are too many new professional words, and some of them, you even cannot find in the big dictionary.
Secondly, the school system here is very different from that of the mainland's universities. You can hardly find a mutiply choices when you are doing a test or something like that.In fact,it's the same as the universities of England. You have lectures, tutorials, labs.
Thirdly, some students here like to use catonese to do anything, for example, asking quesions in lectures.Oh,you feel like a idiot when they are discussing in Catonese on some topics.
Anyhow,my currently conclusion is studying here is both hard and terrible!

My experience 2:
I'd arrived at Cityu a week after the semester began,so I've missed a few lectures.Because I have to register in the school, register the subjects and so forth,I'm too busy to have time to review the lectures I missed and catch up with other students.
But now, after a week's staying at school,I've done most of the things I needed to start my study here.So I had time to review the lectures, memorising the new biological words and preview for the coming lecture this morning.
Then I went to attend a lecture on organism and environment. To my suprise and happiness,I could follow the professor and could manage to understand most of what she was talking about though there were still a few new words to me.Thank goodness. That means I'm gradually adaptting to this whole new environment.Oh,let's cheer for it!Now,I'm more confident than ever and I'll striving hard to catch up with the other students.I'm sure I can!

My experience 3:
Maybe a few of the mates now studying in the mainland but all students in HK know that to just listen to professors and doctors in lectures and know
all of what they teach to us is not enough for the final exams at all.You have to find a lot of refrences related to that youself and that's very important to the exams.
Usually, teachers here will give you the list of the reference books and then you have to go to find them youself.
Just like that,I've got the list of books for Biology and I bought one book which cost me HKD 289.At first,I wanted to read all the pages the teachers asked us to see.But after I opened the book,I found it impossible to read all of this.Caz too many pages, about 50 pages you have to read after a lecture.Oh,[***].How in hell can I handle it?I have to spend about twenty minute to finish a page, then how about 50 pages just for a lecture? I was very confused and didn't know what to do.
So I called a senior student from FudanU who's major is also Biology and asked her about it,and she told me that I needn't read all the pages carefully, only a little of them is useful and is worth reading.
At last,I turned to the teacher who's teaching me this subject and she kindly told me about it.Oh,you only need to read a little in the mass of 50 pages per lecture. That's good news to me.But however,I've already spent about one day's time reading the first 40 pages.Oh,I was so tired studying hard on it and got nothing on that day.
Hope you guys who are gonna study in HK don't make the same mistake as me.Like wasting a lot of time on that.

My experience 4:
I've been through a really tough and hard time after I went to study in Hong Kong. But now,as you know, after eight weeks of studying here,I've almost adapted to the whole new learning enviroment.Well,if you ask me how I feel about studying in HK now,I would say'not real hard, you just listen to the teacher and review the reference book afterwards and that's all.
You see,now I've much free time and I often hang out with some friends to enjoy the really beautiful and melting pot like city and enjoy all kinds of sports and other entertainment facilities of the university.Aha,really wonderful studying here.Come on,man.Come to enjoy HK.
