题目：Do you agree or disagree with following statement? Successful people try new things and risks rather than only doing what they already know how to do well.

Without Christopher Columbus’s global navigation five hundred years ago, we can never know the existence of American continent. Without a first brave man who tasted the poisonous “love apples” which are called tomatoes today, we cannot have access to the delicious tomato and pea soup on our dinner table.

Firstly, trying new things may bring more curious which help us to concentrate longer easily. A survey conducted by Nature among 100 top universities in the world aiming to find out whether the topic is novel/fresh or not will affect the time devoted to the research project suggests that 60% of them will put more energy into the new area. It’s human nature to investigate something new instead of old-fashion. Scholars unconsciously find themselves thinking into the new project even when conducting the old ones.

Secondly, fresh ideas may bring much more people’s attention, thus a success may be achieved more easily. The consumers’ demands for something new and innovative will never diminish. A once-considered fashionable outfit might go out of style within months or weeks because of the rapid shift of trends. Therefore, to keep up with the consumers’ wants, companies are forced to squeeze out unique ideas and often make bold moves. Iphone has emerged been due to a series of Steve Jobs’ creative ideas. Featuring the ingenious (灵敏的) 3.5-inch electric touch screen and the stainless steel band around the edge of the device, serving as the phone's cellular signal and Wi-Fi antenna, smartphone has occupied the whole market(比popular更霸气) within weeks. An unparalleled scene has come into existence that people were standing in lines for hours or even a total night waiting to buy the iphone. With a gentle pointing by the finger, the screen can sense it, users don’t have to press the null button to wait the device to react, the flexibility and quick speed has been overwhelming advantages of the smartphone over the old types.By contrast, the Nokia, clinging to producing the traditional mobiles, is subjected to decreasing sales since then, the final acquisition by Microsoft cannot avoided. It is hardly imaginable that the ever biggest manufacturer of mobiles collapses in such a short time. It is a pity that the original inspiration(构思) of smartphone was first promoted in Nokia, however, the CEO refused to give up the occupied share of the market by old styles. So the Steve Jobs, as the inventor of iphone, grasps the opportunity adopting the new hi-tech. The final success belongs to the innovator.

Admittedly, numerous people gain success through persistence in areas where they already know how to do well, they’re more experienced and the risk is less. However, a person that conforming to old traditions firmly without any change can hardly survive in the modern world. For example, the most famous maker of cheongsam, one of the oldest traditional costumes dating back to Qing dynasty, Yang Chenggui combines the latest fashion and old styles together to satisfy the customers’ needs. It is of little possibility that contemporary citizens wear the same clothes as before. They will be laughed at by others.

Considering those eloquent reasons presented above, we may come to the conclusion that people who dare to take risk and try new things have higher probability to win. It is predictable that the world will progress forward with nonstop provided that people’s exploration into new domain don’t disappear.
